Andy's Army Canine Cancer Awareness Project Andy's Army Canine Cancer Awareness Project promotes pet health, canine cancer awareness, and funding

The Andy's Army Canine Cancer Awareness Project began with a single dog named Andy Bechtel. Andy was rescued by Golden Retriever Rescue Resource and permanently adopted in 2008. In July of 2009 he was diagnosed with cancer and he died the following November. Andy's plight sparked the creation of the first annual Andy's Army Walk and Run for canine cancer research in 2010. The Andy's Army Canine Ca

ncer Awareness Project is an outgrowth of the the walk and run and it is dedicated to public education about canine cancer and continued fundraising for canine cancer research. The booth travels mainly to locations in the Toledo, OH area. Since 2011, Andy's Army has raised nearly $100,000 for canine cancer research.
