Hugo is out of the hospital and continuing to improve! 🥹

After surviving a seven-story fall, losing his eye, undergoing multiple surgeries, and remaining hospitalized while his veterinary team closely monitored the trauma to his chest, seeing him doing better means absolutely everything to us.

Ideally, Hugo would have stayed hospitalized for several more days of professional monitoring and care. But his veterinary bills have become enormous, and without enough financial support coming in, we simply could not afford to keep him there any longer. We still owe the hospital a significant amount for the lifesaving treatment he already received.

So Hugo is now continuing his recovery in our care, where we’re doing everything possible to provide the medications, monitoring, comfort, and support he still needs. He may be out of the hospital, but his recovery isn’t over, and neither are the expenses tied to saving his life.

The most important thing is that our beautiful boy is here. He is improving. He is getting stronger. And after everything he survived, he finally has people who will keep fighting for him. ❤️‍🩹

Please consider donating toward Hugo’s outstanding veterinary bills and continued medical care. We took a chance on Hugo when the people who were supposed to love him walked away, and we desperately need help carrying the cost of that second chance. Every donation, no matter the size, helps us give this brave little survivor everything he needs to heal. Thank you so, so much. 🙏

Rocco was found alone on the street, terrified and badly hurt. Both of his eyes were so swollen they were pushing out of their sockets, and he had a painful bruise on his back leg that made it hard for him to walk. His vet believes he was beaten. He couldn’t see. He could barely stand. We got him to the hospital immediately.

Rocco is still with us, and he’s still fighting. He’s on medication and specialized eye drops to bring the swelling down, and we’re hoping his sight can be saved, but it’s still too early to know for sure. Surgery may still be needed.

What breaks our hearts just as much as his injuries is his fear. He flinches at touch. He startles at every sound. He should be tumbling around with siblings and sleeping curled up next to his mom, not bracing for the world to hurt him again. But even scared, he’s gentle. He wants to feel safe. We just have to show him he finally is.

We’re taking this slow. Patience, quiet, consistency, the kind of care that teaches a kitten like Rocco that not everyone is going to hurt him. Healing like this takes time, but we’re not going anywhere.

Rocco’s care isn’t over. Every donation helps cover his medication, his eye treatments, his vet visits, and whatever comes next. If you can give, please do. If you can share, that helps too. Thank you to everyone who already has. We’ll keep you updated every step of the way. 🙏💕

Arthur was abandoned by his owner. Beaten. Left with a fractured jaw and an eye so severely damaged it was forced from its socket. The one person who was supposed to protect him walked away instead, leaving him broken, suffering, and utterly alone on the streets.

The future was looking bleak for Arthur. Until a good samaritan called us. Today, we are overjoyed to share that Arthur has been released from the hospital and is now safe at our shelter! This is a huge milestone in his recovery.

Right now, our biggest focus is helping him regain his strength and put on some weight. He’s still a very tiny boy, so we’re making sure he gets plenty of nutritious meals and all the love and care he needs as his body continues to heal. He remains on immune-boosting medications and antibiotics for blood-borne parasites, along with vitamins to help his frail body rebuild.

In a few days, Arthur has a very important appointment at the veterinary hospital. Doctors will evaluate whether it’s finally time to remove the stitches from his eye, and examine the wire in his jaw to see if it can come out too, or if he needs just a little more time.

Watching his progress is nothing short of a miracle, and we know in our hearts that without your incredible support, we never could have made it this far. You gave him this chance.

Please keep Arthur in your thoughts as he prepares for this next step. We still need your support to help him cross the finish line to full recovery. Together, we are saving him. ❤️

Donations are still greatly appreciated as we continue covering his medications, follow-up appointments, and ongoing care. Thank you to everyone who has donated, shared his story, and kept him in your hearts. We can’t wait to keep sharing Arthur’s journey as this sweet boy grows stronger every single day. 🙌💙

Thank you so much to everyone who donated and voted to name our sweet, little nameless kitten.

We’d like to formally introduce you to Malak - which means angel in Arabic - very fitting for this determined, gentle and attentive kitten.

We promise to keep you updated as he grows and thrives.

Hugo, a 7-month-old kitten, fell seven stories from a balcony. When his family saw his injuries, they walked away and left him broken and bleeding on the ground. A neighbor couldn’t bear to watch him suffer and placed him in a cardboard box, then called our rescue for help.

We rushed him to the emergency vet hospital, where he was found to have a displaced eye, air trapped around his lungs, and dangerously elevated liver enzymes from the trauma.

Our veterinary team fought hard to save Hugo’s eye. They carefully repositioned it and sewed his eyelids closed to give it the best chance to heal. But when they reopened it days later, the damage was too severe. Hugo had to undergo a second surgery to have the eye removed.

Through everything, Hugo has shown incredible strength. His surgeries are behind him now, but he is still hospitalized while his medical team monitors the air trapped around his lungs and works to stabilize him fully before he can come home.

This little kitten has survived a devastating fall, the heartbreak of being abandoned by his own family, and multiple surgeries, all before he was even a year old.

Please consider donating today to help cover Hugo’s ongoing hospitalization, monitoring, and medical care.

Every dollar helps remind him (and us!) that even though someone left him behind, an entire community showed up for him instead.
