Scout is doing an excellent job working on his stay at distance with distractions. Here he is in an area with new dogs, people, and construction equipment. Many dogs get distracted by just one of those things, but with practice,Scout is learning to stay and be relaxed with the environment around him. Way to go Scout!

Have you ever heard of the term “heart animal?” This is a pet that you share a profoundly deep bond with. Those of you who have met me and Einstein know he is truly my heart animal. Actually, he is my inspiration for the business and the entire reason I became a dog trainer. Einstein came to me while I was working at a local animal rescue. He was found abandoned by animal control and brought into the shelter as a young rambunctious dog. From the start it was pretty obvious Einstein had some unique behavioral challenges. He struggled with impulse control and anxiety and overall naughty dog behaviors. Despite all those challenges he was one of the most loving and cuddly dogs I have ever met. He was a complete goofball who always made me smile. It was after almost two years of waiting in the shelter that I ended up adopting Einstein. Bringing Einstein home was one of the best decisions I ever made. He has completely changed my life. When he first came home Einstein still had a lot of behavior problems we had to work through, however, it was through all the hard work and training that we bonded very deeply to each other. I truly believe Einstein will always be my heart animal, and I would not be the person I am today without him.

Welcome to Einstein's Puppy Professor's page! My name is Allison Shayer and I am a local dog trainer in Des Moines, Iowa. I have been a professional dog trainer for the last 6 years and have been working as an animal professional for 10 years. I am a certified dog trainer through the certification council for professional dog trainers as well as a certified fear free trainer.
