🐾 Barktoberfest is about more than just a fun run, dogs, and local vendors!

One of the most important things we celebrate at Barktoberfest is the partnerships that make animal welfare work possible—especially the relationships between MADACC, Friends of MADACC, and shelters and rescues across Wisconsin.

MADACC’s role as Milwaukee County’s stray holding facility has always centered around one important goal: getting lost animals back home to the people who are looking for them. Adoption was not originally part of MADACC’s role.

For animals who weren’t reclaimed, rescue and shelter partners became an important part of the next step. They opened their doors, took animals into their programs, and helped them find new families. 🐈‍⬛🐶🐷🦜

Those partnerships continue to be incredibly important today. ❤️

On September 26th at Estabrook Park, come meet some of the organizations that help Milwaukee’s animals every day—and while you’re here, you’ll also have a chance to meet adoptable dogs from some of the rescues attending! 🐶🍂

Come celebrate the partnerships, people, and pups that help make second chances possible. 🐾
