One of my past kittens looking stunning for spooky season 🎃!

This little girl was always something special with children. 🖤

When this litter was born, my youngest daughter, who has autism, was still struggling to find her voice and wasn’t talking very much yet. But this beautiful little black kitten somehow broke a barrier.

My daughter was determined to communicate with her kitten friend. She wanted to talk to her, interact with her, and tell people about her. Around that same time, she had just started K4, and this kitten quickly became one of her favorite things to try to tell her teacher about—in the best way she knew how at the time. 🥹

I would never say that an animal replaces therapy or that this kitten was responsible for my daughter’s progress. But I do think there can be something incredibly therapeutic about the relationship between a child and an animal. Animals can provide comfort and companionship without the social pressures that sometimes come with human interaction. For my daughter, this kitten gave her something she deeply wanted to communicate about. She created motivation, connection, and a safe little space for my daughter to practice finding her voice.

Fast-forward one year, and my little girl is finding that voice more and more every day. 🖤

And one of the sweetest parts of this story? This kitty’s mom tells me that she is still absolutely wonderful with children.

Some kittens leave our home and become beloved pets. Some seem to find a little role in their families that you never could have predicted.

My mom has one of my kittens & due to disabilities I do all of her Sphynx maintenance…

Dragon didn’t know if I was there for lovies or maintenance…today he made sure I knew he wasn’t having any of it 😅!

No ears were cleaned and no nails were clipped today 😂

I forgot to get Winters’ pic she had us all laughing with her aggressive biscuits during her scan 😂!

Per the cardiologist- My babies have very beautiful healthy hearts 🥰! - Best words you can hear when you have Sphynx !!! She also said they were the most well behaved cats! I’m kinda happy about this but October hissed at me when I put her in the carrier- I had a whole speech planned if she got aggressive 😅! She purred & hugged the tech…. Very unexpected 😂

Not sure if you remember when I posted about sleeping outside for an animatronic 😅…. Just thought I’d share that I got him…..However, I am now realizing that he probably won’t survive long in a house full of cats 😅!

They like him a little too much 🫠

Also, I promise I’m a functional adult 😅

Hi everyone, this is a friendly reminder that Trippy Sphynx doesn’t produce BAMBINOS, DWARFS, DWELFS, MINSKINS OR MUNCHKINS!

I am getting a lot of inquiries about them! We haven’t ever offered them and will not offer them in the future. We primarily produce standard Sphynx and have a single Elf queen so Elf will even be offered on a limited basis.

Jubilee one of our beautiful queens! She’s a feisty girl but she lives up to her name because she lives like everyday is a celebration 🎉! Party like a rockstar would be her yearbook quote 🤣

Prior to Jubilee I will admit I did not have any hands on experience with the Elf cats. I assumed they would be similar to Sphynx! However, they are different in many ways. When I brought her in I wasn’t even sure she would make it to the program. You hear such nasty things online about Elf’s. What I immediately noticed is how much hardier they are than the Sphynx-> with Jubilee and her kittens! Just a healthy lively cat! She’s been to the vet for physical exams/ testing, heart scans and vaccinations- She’s never been sick or shown any signs of typical Sphynx issues!

Now the ears ? They need to be deep cleaned once a week and more if I see a ton of wax ( because who wants to look at that). Jubilee likes water and if you leave the bathroom door open during a bath- she’s jumping in with you! This is where my only issues with the ears have come in! She has needed drops after her bath tub swimming incidences! Because we know she likes water and joining you for baths 😅 we either keep her out or (I can’t believe I’m sharing this) I lay a towel on my chest so she can sit with me- oh the things we do for our babies 🫠! Since she’s not doing cannon balls regularly anymore we have not had any ear issues! In this case correlation was causation 😂!

When she passed her tests and joined the program I initially said maybe just one litter and we see how things go! But, I can confidently say she will be a mom again. Her kittens were easy and healthy! Everything you look for as a breeder when decisions are being made have been present with her and her kittens!

This long post is just to share more about the Elf. If you’ve ever been interested in one I hope you’ve taken the time to read the article in my bio and have used the links to start your own research! Of all the experimental breeds TICA canceled this is one I absolutely don’t agree with! What I’ve seen & experienced tells me they bring value to the hairless cat world!

If you’ve ever wondered how I come up with my designs for the Sphynx merch….

✅My twins use their fancy iPads pro’s I invested in for digital art to help transform real pics to graphics & yes I use a little AI when needed!

I know there’s a LOT of debate surrounding AI—and trust me, I have concerns too. I’m not happy about its environmental impact, and I absolutely understand the concerns artists have about their work being used, copied, or devalued.

But I also think the conversation around AI has become a little more complicated than simply “AI = bad.”

AI is already woven into so much of the technology we use every day. Have you done a Google search lately? Used a smartwatch, smart glasses, or a smart ring? Let your email filter spam? Used a virtual “try-on” feature while shopping? Enjoyed recommendations from your favorite streaming service? AI is already part of our everyday lives—often without us even thinking about it.

That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t question it. We absolutely should. But I believe the larger problems surrounding AI have to be addressed from the top down: how these systems are trained, how artists are protected and compensated, how much energy they consume, and how companies are allowed to use them.

So I also want to be transparent about how I use AI for Trippy Sphynx merch.

My designs don’t begin with me typing “make me a Sphynx shirt” and selling whatever pops out.

They usually begin with my actual cats. I take real photographs of them, my daughters and I make edits and develop ideas, and then I use AI as another creative tool to help transform those elements into a finished piece of artwork and this isn’t always generative AI either sometimes it’s photo editing apps because guess what? That’s AI too. There’s a human concept, real photography, editing, experimenting, and making changes until the design actually feels like Trippy Sphynx.

So yes—AI is part of my process. But so are my cats, my photography, my daughters’ creativity, my ideas, and a whole lot of human decision-making.

I don’t expect everyone to feel the same way about AI, and I respect that. I think transparency matters though, so I’d rather tell you exactly how I use it than pretend I don’t. 🖤
