Asking “want a treat?” is a surefire way to make the dogs I’m watching not only follow and listen to me but cling to me like a second layer of skin 🤣 when I’m with new dogs, I do everything I can to ease their anxiety because a stranger is suddenly in their home and it can be a lot for them to adjust to. I always ask about favorite treats and toys during the meet and greet so I know how to bring them back to a state of calm and familiarity.
