I was hoping to get a decent tracking video in for this one last week but she honestly only made it 125 yards and I started the video too late šŸ˜‚

The one that ALMOST got away!

We had a tough day tracking yesterday going 0-3 and this morning started just the same on this deer.

I tracked for this hunter a few years ago and he knew when to back out. I figured might as well get Jovie on him and have some fun. Thinking it would be a slam dunk.

She did good on the known blood trail but just seemed to get lost and eventually just shut down tracking wise. I decided to grab Rex and run it with him as I knew this deer was dead after seeing the arrow.

This buck in total went only 500 yards but it took Rex I would say 2 hours to find him. He would track 30 yards and either get off and start searching elsewhere or just get off and loop back into the line to check himself. Just took seriously a team to find this deer. For whatever reason this buck just wasnā€™t pushing out quite what the dogs needed to get really locked into it. Either way Iā€™m grateful we got it done!

ā€œItā€™s not a 30 pointer but 20 will doā€ some words I will never forget.

Grandpa truly got a once in a lifetime buck last night. I am grateful to be a small part of his memory. Seeing him almost in shock over his buck really was something to see. Couldnā€™t be happier for him!

The buck only ran 130 yards from the hit site and Rex really wasnā€™t needed. Just one of those things I go when grandpa calls. He said he shot a giant and he wasnā€™t lying!

Congrats grandpa! I couldnā€™t seriously be happier for him. Remarkable deer.

Fun opening weekend!! Rex got in on a little action. But more importantly Jovie got her first real world recovery!

Iā€™ve tracked for this group a few times and they usually play it on the safe side so I figured be a good one for Jovie! Turns out she was actually needed. What I was thinking would be good practice turned into real world recovery!

Weā€™ve got some things to work on but Iā€™m excited to see what this coming season has for her!

Reach out if you need some help tracking this fall!

Andā€¦ā€¦ the bear streak continues into Wisconsin! First up for the night was someone that has seen me and Rex track before for his son on a buck last year!

He called stated that he had shot a bear had no clue where he hit it. Or what to exactly do. So he wanted us to come out and help!

The best part? He shot it here in waushara county! And to top it off? On PUBLIC! So glad I was able to be a small piece of the memory of his hunt! First bear for him as well!

As it always seems they donā€™t go far when they are mortally hit. This one made it 128 yards some blood here and there along the way.

Interesting facts for you guys! I have done about 600 tracks now with Rex. Iā€™ve only had 2 calls to track bear here in waushara county. Pretty awesome stuff!

Crazy to think that itā€™s deer season already!

Here we go folks! We are beyond excited and ready to roll for the 2026 season! We are headed into our 6th season with hundreds of tracks under our belts!

This year you will see Jovie sprinkled into the mix! So if you call for a track you may get Rex you may get Jovie! šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø come rut I will be running Jovie and am anticipating Chris will be running Rex some then! I will have 2 dogs ready to roll at most times this fall. Between myself or Chris we got you covered!

But for now! Good luck and shoot straight! Remember deer donā€™t expire any faster just because itā€™s warm! Always give them time if needed!

As always feel free to reach out day or night! I track FULL-TIME in the fall! (920)647-6067

Few more from Minnesota!

One with a beautiful a crescent and also the youngā€™s manā€™s first bear with his bow! Pretty cool to be a part of it with him! Also met up with some tracking friends so they got to be in on the fun as well!

My Minnesota trip was short lived but we are only a few days away from season! More coming soon!
