WRAC wants everyone to enjoy a safe and happy Fourth of July! While you’re celebrating, please remember that fireworks can be frightening for our pets. Every year, we see an increase in missing dogs and cats after fireworks begin.

A little preparation now can help prevent a heartbreaking situation later.

🐶 Firework Safety Tips:
• Make sure your dog is wearing a collar with current ID tags and that your pet’s microchip information is up to date.
• Refill any anxiety medications before the holiday if your pet needs them.
• Keep all doors, gates, and fences securely closed.
• Keep pets indoors during fireworks—even if they normally spend time outside.
• Leave a TV or calming music on if you won’t be home to help drown out the noise.
• Create a quiet, safe space where your pet can feel secure.

❤️ We want everyone to enjoy their holiday, but we also want every pet to stay safe and at home with their family.
