From Woof to Home

From Woof to Home At The Big Bad Woof, one of our goals is to help pets within the community find their forever homes.

We work with several local rescues as well as individual fosters to help keep animals out of shelters. For the past twelve years, The Woof has maintained a strong commitment to its community. Through healthy relationships with local farmers, as well as the various local rescue organizations, fundraising events, adoptions and, specialized clinics and pet supply and food drives, the Woof has offered

everyone the opportunity to be a better pet owner. Owners Julie Paez and Pennye Jones-Napier sum up their philosophy this way: “There should be a standard in being able to say that you can run a business well, give back to the community and make a profit.”

Meet adoptable Lilo!

Currently being fostered in the Chevy Chase part of Maryland, Lilo is a rescued "sato" or street dog from Puerto Rico in the care of Toby's Rescue, a small local rescue that has been active since 2020.

By all accounts Lilo has blossomed into a stunning, rust-colored beauty with long legs and a heart of gold, she is the perfect blend of puppy energy and sweet affection—truly 27 pounds of sugar and spice.

Lilo absolutely loves other dogs. Her ideal day involves playtime, playtime, and more playtime with her canine buddies. She's also made friends with the resident cat in her foster home. Learn more about Lilo here: https://bit.ly/4wV1Nt4
