Handsome Boopsie and his problematic p*epers.😣

Unfortunately, after doing really well for about a week and a half after his surgery, Boop’s eyes are starting to bother him. 😩 I’m not sure what changed or what’s going on, but he’ll be seeing his eye doctor on Monday. Hopefully we can figure out what’s up and get him some relief. He has been SUCH a good boy about his meds and cone- I’m just hoping we can give him a break from both soon.

Happy happy third Gotcha Day to our impossibly sweet and resilient little Gussie Baby!

Our Little Emperor makes us smile every single day. He has brought us so much joy and delight (as well as some not insignificant vet bills and an entire dresser full of washable p*e blankets😹).

We are so incredibly grateful to have him as part of our family.

We love you, Gussie!!!

👀 Boopsie Surgery Update 👀

I am so happy to report that Boop’s eye surgery went well. 🙌 He needed extensive work done on both eyes, so they are both pretty swollen and painful looking right now, but that will subside with time and medication.

Thank you all for keeping him in your thoughts and sending us good vibes during his surgery yesterday.

Thank you to Armour Vet Ophthalmology for taking such great care of our little guy.

👀 Boop Health Update 👀

Because nothing is ever straightforward, we’ve encountered a new wrinkle while trying to figure out how to treat Boop’s recent IBD/ Small Cell Lymphoma diagnosis.

Boop was born with eyelid agenesis (meaning his eyelids didn’t form properly). As a kitten, he underwent 3 surgeries to help “build” eyelids. While he’s done well since those surgeries, his eyes never have been (and never will be) “normal”.

Unfortunately, because of his history he’s prone to additional eye issues, like the ones he’s now developed- entropion and trichiasis.

Boop will be getting surgery to correct these news issues next week.

🏃 “Look, Ma! No eyes!!” 🏃

Ok, that’s not quite true. Gussie has 1 tiny eye that’s mostly obscured by his 3rd eyelid, and we’re not sure if it actually works, so he while he technically has eyes, he is functionally blind. But that doesn’t stop him from being an absolute MENACE on his cat wheel!

Gussie loves to run and walk on his wheel - but preferably with an audience to cheer him on! 😹

He often climbs onto the wheel and meows until we let him know we’re watching. He’ll then run a few sprints and then dismount for celebratory pets and prancypants.

He is the absolute cutest.

🎂🎉HAPPY SIXTEENTH BIRTHDAY, DORA!!🎉🎂

Our beautiful little bean has turned 16! It’s almost impossible to comprehend how long she’s been a part of our lives.💗

Dora keeps us on our toes with her chatty nature, persistent demands for treats, and excellence in every way. She is a true force of nature and we couldn’t love her more.
