Had so much fun breaking this down with stevechenevey on FOX 5 DC’s Good Day DC! 🍂

What’s really hiding under those fall leaves? Acorns and mushrooms, and most dog parents never think to check.

My rule on walks: if it smells good to your pup, it’s probably not good for them. Keep lots of yummy treats on you so you can trade instead of pulling something straight out of their mouth. 🐾

What’s the weirdest thing your dog has ever tried to eat on a walk? Tell me below, I need to know I’m not alone on this one.

Grisham Stewart of the Grisha Stewart Academy and Empowered Animals, LLC caught our Fox 5 segment on back-to-school routines for dogs, and we're honored. If you're not following her, fix that, she created BAT and is an absolute genius in dog behavior!

How important is sniffing to your dog? Ask Julie! She found an interesting patch of ground on a recent walk and just stopped. Nose down, not moving, completely locked in.

A good sniff break does more for a dog’s nervous system than another lap around the block. That’s why we offer decompression walks. No rushing, no step counting, just letting your dog be a dog.

If yours seems wound up after being home all day, this might be the missing piece!

Back on Fox 5 last week talking about something that doesn’t get much airtime this time of year: back to school isn’t just an adjustment for kids. It’s a real shift for dogs too. Longer stretches alone, a different rhythm to walks and meals, less company than they had all summer.

I walked through what that adjustment looks like and what helps most in the first week. Simple stuff: a few minutes of real attention before you leave instead of just grabbing your keys and rushing out, and a puzzle feeder to give your dog something to settle into before the house goes quiet.

Thank you stevechenevey and FOX 5 DC for having me back!

It’s back to school time! We covered this on Fox 5 a few days ago week, here’s the fuller list.

3 signs your dog is struggling with the new schedule:
🐾Pacing near the door around pickup time
🐾New destructive chewing that recently started
🐾 Sleeping more during the day than usual

Notice any of these in your own pup? A consistent mid-day walk can help the transition. Link in bio or send us a DM.
