"Friends of Taika" works to collect pet toys and treats to be distributed to people in need with dogs and cats. The idea behind this organization, and the day to day operations are completely run by our children. As their parents, we serve as advisers. "Friends of Taika" (named for our own pup) is currently working through the Sharing Locker to distribute the items. The Sharing Locker is a non-foo
d pantry that supports families in Kent and Washington counties in RI. The Sharing Locker provides families in need with essentials like soaps, paper products, and pet food (things that are not covered by SNAP but that are important to happy and healthy families). We can also accept monetary donations. Checks should be made payable to "Sharing Locker" with "Taika" written in the memo section. Checks can be mailed to: Westminster Unitarian Church, Attn: Sharing Locker, 119 Kenyon Ave, East Greenwich, RI 02818. The funds collected from this campaign will be dedicated to pet supply purchases to be distributed through the Sharing Locker.
