Today I received a call that last night, one of my past puppies, Sunday, tragically passed away. My heart is absolutely broken for her family. 💔
Sunday was such a beautiful dog and had us all wrapped around her paw from the very beginning. It has been so special knowing she was loved so deeply by her family throughout her life.
As a breeder, these puppies always leave a piece of themselves with me. I remember every one of them and hearing of her passing is incredibly hard.
Please keep Sunday’s family in your prayers as they grieve this sudden loss. She was so very loved, and she will not be forgotten.

Wait… where did all her hair go?! 😂
One thing a lot of people don’t realize about female Shelties is that after having puppies, they can go through a major postpartum coat blow.
After pregnancy and nursing, changing hormone levels can cause a female to shed a huge amount of her coat all at once. That gorgeous full Sheltie coat can suddenly become thin, flat, scraggly, and sometimes downright pitiful looking.
This is exactly what has happened with our girl Elsie after raising her babies.
The good news? In a healthy dog, this is a normal part of the postpartum cycle. Much like a human mama can have hair loss, her coat didn’t suddenly become “bad,” and she doesn’t need to be shaved. She simply needs time, good nutrition, regular brushing, and a little patience while her new coat grows back in.
A proper bath and blowout can also help remove the loose dead coat and make her feel much better during the process.
So if you ever see a beautiful fluffy Sheltie mom turn into a slightly questionable little woodland creature a few months after puppies… don’t panic. 🤣
Motherhood is HARD on the wardrobe.

Willow & Wren Shetland Sheepdogs – Waiting List Policy

At Willow & Wren, our goal is to match each puppy with the right family while making the process as fair and organized as possible for everyone, including us.
To join our official waiting list, we require a $200 non-refundable reservation fee. This fee secures your place in line and is credited toward the purchase price of your puppy.
Reservation fees allow us to prioritize families who are truly committed to bringing home a Willow & Wren puppy while helping us plan future litters more accurately.
When puppies are born, families will be contacted in the order reservation fees were received. Puppy selections will also follow that order.
If the puppy you’re hoping for (such as a specific s*x or color) is not available in the current litter, you may choose to:

* Transfer your reservation to a future litter, or
* Select another available puppy, if one is a good fit.

If you decide to pass on an available puppy that meets the preferences you requested or choose to leave the waiting list, the reservation fee will be forfeited.
Our puppies are priced between $2,500 and $3,000, depending on the individual puppy. The reservation fee is applied toward that purchase price and is not an additional charge.
