There’s an art to taking care of ourselves, too. ❤️

Just as I’m always fine-tuning a painting or sculpture—paying attention to balance, form, and the smallest details—I believe our bodies deserve that same attention.

So grateful for time spent training with my friend Heather Henson and our trainer Rob. Staying strong, moving our bodies, and continuing to challenge ourselves is all part of keeping the creativity flowing.

Our bodies are perhaps the most important works of art we’ll ever take care of. 💪🎨✨

Wild at Heart 🦓🤍

There is something beautiful about finding tenderness in the wild.

I’ve always been fascinated by zebras—their independence, their striking patterns, and the fact that no two are exactly alike. But what moved me about this moment was the connection between these two.

Standing close, heads resting against one another, there is a quiet affection that needs no explanation. I wanted to capture that feeling on canvas—the comfort of simply knowing someone is beside you.

Wild, individual, and completely connected.

This piece is still coming to life in my studio, and I’m loving where it is going.

What would you name this painting? 🦓✨

There’s something timeless about a Labrador Retriever—the loyalty, intelligence, strength, and pure joy they bring into our lives. 🐾

I wanted to capture that unmistakable Lab spirit in this sculpture. As the light moves through the Lucite, the colors and reflections continually shift, giving the piece a personality all its own.

Just like the dogs that inspire my work, no two moments with it ever feel quite the same. ✨

Are you a Lab lover? Tell me the name of your Labrador in the comments! ❤️🐶

What is the lasting difference between an original painting and an art print?

A print can bring a beautiful image into your home at an accessible price. An original, however, carries the artist’s hand, texture, depth, and a presence that changes with the light.

In my latest blog, I explore the differences in material, scarcity, provenance, and long-term significance—and what to consider before choosing either.

There’s something extra special about seeing art connect with the very animals that inspire it. 🐾❤️

My friend Rosemary stopped by the AKC Museum of the Dog on Park Avenue in New York City with her adorable pug—and captured this wonderful moment with my Red Dachshund sculpture.

Crafted from crystal-clear Lucite and infused with holographic sparkles and stardust, Red Dachshund comes alive as the light moves through it, creating a different experience from every angle. I wanted to capture the playful spirit, loyalty, and unmistakable personality that make dogs such beloved companions.

I’m so honored to have my work displayed at the AKC Museum of the Dog, surrounded by art that celebrates the incredible bond we share with our dogs.

Thank you, Rosemary, for visiting with your adorable pug. I think my Red Dachshund may have made a new friend! 🐶❤️✨

Such a lovely Friday night in NYC! 🎨✨

I had the pleasure of meeting with April Zhang, owner of Sojourner Gallery, and spending some time together talking about art, the gallery, and the upcoming Jayne Berrier Estate Exhibit.

I’m looking forward to seeing this special exhibition come to life, starting today, August 30 and running through September 6. The collection brings together art, fashion, history, and the fascinating story of Jayne Berrier’s life.

There is always something inspiring about connecting with people who share a passion for art and the stories behind it. Thank you, April, for such a lovely visit! ❤️

How do you begin an art collection with intention?

It starts by paying attention to what truly holds your gaze—not what is trending or simply fills an empty wall. The strongest collections develop gradually, beginning with artwork that creates a lasting emotional response and continues to reveal something new over time.

In my latest blog, I explore how first-time collectors can make thoughtful, confident decisions—from establishing a realistic budget and researching an artist’s practice to understanding materials, provenance, authenticity, placement, and proper care.

A first acquisition does not need to be monumental in size or price. It might be a smaller original painting, a work on paper, or a limited-edition sculpture. What matters is that the work feels resolved, distinctive, and meaningful to you.

Collecting art is not about completing every room as quickly as possible. It is about developing your eye, building relationships, and choosing works that reflect your own way of seeing.

Begin with one piece you would be grateful to live with for years—and allow the collection to evolve from there.

Cat on the Moon reflects our fascination with exploring new worlds and the rapid acceleration of AI and technology. A solitary cat sits on the moon, symbolizing both independence and the growing sense of isolation that can accompany progress.

As humanity moves into an uncertain future, the painting asks what qualities we will carry with us. Will we preserve our empathy, curiosity and connection to one another, or leave them behind? Cat on the Moon is a meditation of remaining human as we evolve.

What makes a work of art truly endure?

A serious collection rarely begins with financial predictions. It begins with recognition—the moment a painting or sculpture stays with you long after you have left the room.

Investment art can hold financial potential, but its deeper value lies in choosing work with lasting artistic and emotional significance. The strongest acquisitions bring together originality, technical command, material integrity, and a clear artistic vision. They are not dependent on a passing trend. They continue to reveal something new as light, surroundings, and the collector’s own perspective change.

In my latest blog, I explore what collectors should consider when acquiring art for the long term—from the importance of an artist’s practice and exhibition history to rarity, documentation, condition, and the thoughtful use of materials.

Whether it is the luminosity and shifting reflections of Lucite or the depth and physical presence of oil on Belgian linen, material should contribute to the meaning of the work rather than simply create an effect. A meaningful acquisition should feel distinctive, resolved, and capable of remaining compelling through changing tastes and market cycles.

The most rewarding collections are built with both feeling and discipline. Choose art that moves you, but also take the time to understand its craftsmanship, authenticity, provenance, and place within the artist’s larger body of work.

Ultimately, the finest investment is a work you are grateful to live with—one whose meaning continues to grow through the years.

There’s something about leaves that I never get tired of painting. 🍂

This oil on board brings together some of my favorite leaves—their shapes, edges, shadows, and the subtle colors that appear as they begin to change. I love how no two leaves are ever quite the same, and how something so familiar in nature can become almost abstract when you really stop and look at it.

Nature always gives us something new to see. These just happen to be a few of my favorites.

What is your favorite part of fall—the changing leaves, the crisp air, or something else?
