This guy was at the State Fair and overheated/stressed out. We did not think he was going to make it but some how he pulled through and now is eating, drinking and acting normal! Now to get him gaining and continue developing and hopefully be a part of our program.

Mackenzie’s BEW/Vienna project. This cross is a chocolate buck with a BEW doe. One is looking to be showable-as long as it keeps developing. One we can’t use at all in our program due to it having blue grey eyes and being broken-but we want to watch it grow. And then the other Vienna marked one we hope it continues to develop and she can use in her program. Time will tell…

Kansas State Fair 2026 in the books!

William won Reserve Champion Showman for 9-10 year olds. We failed to get his Showmanship rabbit entered and found out yesterday they would not let him use his regular showmanship rabbit. His showmanship rabbit a a completely different rabbit than what he raises. He had never used Travis87 his broken black Havana buck as a showmanship rabbit and it’s a little different due to the varieties and body types but he still pulled off a reserve. William helped run Havanas to and from the table!

Mackenzie her rabbits received blues and one red. She too did not have her showmanship rabbit added to the show so had to use another rabbit. One of her rabbits injured its eye so had to be pulled from the show and another sadly passed. She chose to use another rabbit who had not been worked with for showmanship and if you know Kenzie it throws off her entire routine and she doesn’t adjust well. She still did very well considering the circumstances. She is ready to work hard and do even better at State Convention next month. Mackenzie helped run rabbits to and from the show table.

Kate took 3rd in Breed ID with a score of 92/100 with her 2 friends beating her. Congratulations to Cooper and Jonathan! Kate’s rabbits received purples, blues and a white. Kate took comments all day Saturday for Judge Briony. She is loading all of our rabbits herself (with the help of Steve and Jonathan) and bringing them home.

Overall a great weekend. Congratulations to our friends who competed today and their wins!

Kicked off the Wabaunsee Fair with Rabbit Hopping. William entered his Himalayan Jumanji and Kenzie entered her Polish Oreo. Jumanji loves it except the pool noodle he wants nothing to do with that Jump 😂. Oreo tries but just doesn’t jump high!

They each entered 3 contests Agility, straight line, and high jump.

Oreo finished all the courses but just can’t make it over anymore than 3 bars 😂. He and Kenzie got participation ribbons!

Jumanji was 3rd in high jump (after 5 he said nope I’m hot and done). 3rd in Agility because he would not do the pool noodle jump. And he took 1st in straight line-completing the course in 14.2 secs!! Videos to post soon.

Congrats to the winners! Some really fun rabbits!

These rabbits are the kids but there seems to be one that gets my attention. His name is “Mahomes”. He always wants pets when you walk by the cage. Doesn’t run away when you open the cage. He loves pets. 🥰
