Shiloh is a mixed-breed, about 1 year old, and already has the basics down—which means you get the fun part without the chaos phase.

✔️ Has good manners (the kind people actually mean)

Quick New Year’s Eve reminder from someone who sees a lot of loose dogs on here this time of year.

Fireworks can seriously spook dogs — even the ones who “are usually fine.” Tonight and tomorrow are some of the most common times pups bolt, panic, or hurt themselves trying to escape.

A few things that help:
Don’t leave dogs home alone if you can help it
Keep them inside before fireworks start
Close windows, turn on music or TV to dull the noise
Make sure collars and tags are on (even indoors)
Give them a safe, quiet space to settle

If you don’t have someone to be with your dog tonight, having a human present can make a huge difference. We’re local sitters on Rover and are happy to be a resource for drop-ins, walks, or just sitting with dogs to keep them calm and safe.
