🐾 A Belated Thank You! 🐾

I apologize for being late making this post, but I want to give a huge thank you to Brenda Barton Wilson for sending dog food, kitten food, peanut butter, and lick mats for our rescue animals. And hard cat foid for the community cats.❤️

Your generosity has helped us so much, and the dogs absolutely loved the peanut butter and lick mats! 🐶

Thank you not only for the supplies, but for always being there for us, checking on us, reaching out, and standing behind our rescue. Your support, kindness, and encouragement mean more than you know.

When you're cleaning the kitten room and suddenly realize you're one kitten short... 👀🐱

I was cleaning their room and couldn't figure out where this little girl had disappeared to. The room isn't very big, and there aren't many places for a kitten to hide.

Then I noticed one of her sisters sitting there staring at the trash can. 🤔

So I lifted the lid...

And there she was. 😂

Somehow this tiny kitten had managed to get herself inside the trash can and was just laying in there like she'd rented the place for the weekend.

No meowing. No trying to get out. Just patiently waiting for someone to come rescue her from the situation she created herself. 🤦‍♀️🐾

These kittens keep me on my toes every single day! ❤️😂

Vinnie 🖤

Vinnie is one of our shy boys, and he’s been with us for quite a while now. He still doesn’t let me pet him, and honestly, I don’t expect that to change anytime soon.

But what has changed is something really special.

He trusts me enough to completely let his guard down. He’ll stretch out on the floor, relax, and just exist comfortably in my space—knowing I’m not going to reach for him or push him past what he’s ready for.

For a cat like Vinnie, that kind of comfort is everything. It’s his way of saying, “I feel safe here.”

And I’ll take that as a win every single time 🖤

🐾 𝗔 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 🐾

Our rescue dogs count on us for their next meal—and right now, we’re down to our last few cans of 𝗣𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗔𝗱𝘂𝗹𝘁 𝗣â𝘁é.

We are still okay on puppy wet food and Purina One wet food, but this is the food several of our adult rescue dogs rely on every day, and we are running low.

If you would like to help, a few cans may not seem like much—but to a rescue dog, it means a full belly, comfort, and knowing they are cared for while they wait for a family of their own. ❤️🐶

Meet the newest member of our crew! 🐾

This sweet little guy showed up homeless and in need of help. Sadly, not everyone was kind to him while he was out on his own, but despite that, he's remained incredibly sweet, loving, and trusting. Of course, we couldn't say no.

He's still just a kitten, and as you can see, he's full of love, curiosity, and charm.

We haven't picked a name yet—we want to get to know his personality a little better first. For now, we're just enjoying every purr, cuddle, and playful moment.

Welcome to the SWVA Animal Haven family, little dude. ❤️

If you'd like to help spoil our newest rescue, we do have a wishlist (in the comments). As a donation-based rescue, we're always in need of supplies to help care for him and all of the other animals depending on us. Every item makes a difference. 🐾

Note: We are on a no-intake status, but this little guy had nowhere safe to go and needed help. As Vice Chair of the rescue, this was my decision to take him in because I couldn’t turn him away.

Because of that, he may end up being a permanent part of our family—we honestly don’t know yet and will see how things unfold with time. For now, he’s safe and loved. ❤️
