The girls really showed up and showed out last night! Britt and Eric with Blazed Brimworks Boutique were nonstop from 6-10pm dishing out one of a kind hats!

This one was truly one for the books and I’m so glad everyone came out to support SGR and had fun doing it!

This is a hard post for me to write but such a happy one at the same time! Reese and Fly’s trial with Trails of Purpose has come to an end and both horses have officially been adopted and added into their veteran therapy program! 🎉

If you’ve been here long enough you know Reese is our OG girl. The reason we started this rescue and the reason we continue to advocate for the ethical treatment of horses! So to know I can’t walk out and get some of her snuggles whenever I want is definitely bittersweet. But to see videos of her walking beside people in wheelchairs and knowing she’s touching lives that need her more than I do, reminds me this is exactly what I want for her. She’s built herself a fan club over there already and if you know Reese, she is the absolute queen and adores all of that attention! 👑

And then there is our Fly boy. His giant personality always steals the show and hearts so it’s no surprise at all that he too eats up the attention he gets at Trails of Purpose! The farm is different without them here but we are so happy that they found a home they can continue to thrive in and help others at the same time.

📣 Belle says shout it from the rooftops! It’s finally here!!! is live and we need your help reaching our goal for the next 24 hours!!

We are already off to a great start so let’s keep that momentum going! If we reach our goal, we will be able to purchase 2nd cut orchard hay for the farm for an ENTIRE YEAR! Forage (grass and hay) are the most important part of a horses diet and are the key to getting and keeping our rescues healthy! 🌾

We will also be able to build our Guardian fund back up which allows us to immediately get horses the care they need instead of having to fundraise for their intake and care costs first. 🩺

TOMORROW IS THE DAY! As we get ready for our biggest fundraiser of the year we want to show you what your donations go to at .grace.rescue

I’d be remiss if I didn’t talk about Mocha’s story. Mocha was a 3 year old filly who found herself in a kill pen in TX unable to properly walk. It was truly gut wrenching to see this scared baby try to move around.

Another long rehab, 2 years actually, and a lot of patience and love later..

Mocha came to .grace.rescue in April of 2021. She found herself in the slaught3r pipeline at just 3 years old with locking stifles. Young horses can get locking stifles if their muscles have not fully developed with their growth. Mocha came to us severely underweight (which poor nutrition attributes to locking stifles), she also had a respiratory infection and conjunctivitis in her eye. She had been handled before but was unsure of people and clearly had trauma around training.

We did a very slow rehab with her to heal her properly and give her the best shot at making a full recovery. Then an amazing family stepped in and offered to foster Mocha and train her. Brian and Jack knew Mocha needed time and an understanding heart to help chip away at the walls she had built. They spent countless hours through the ups and downs, highs and lows building this girl back to the gorgeous, confident horse she is today.

Brian and Jack fell in love with Mocha bean and ended up adopting her! She now lives her best life with her horse brother Jesse who adores her 🖤

Real rescue is hard work and takes a lot of time, effort and money to be successful. Tomorrow is our fundraiser and with your help we can continue to help horses like Mocha live the life they deserve!

Come celebrate our biggest fundraiser of the year with us! We will be posted up at Tuesday, May 5th to close out a busy day of fundraising for ’s . We will have access to live fundraising results so we can hopefully get a good last final push for the night as well as a map to show us what states we still need a donation from!!

So come join us for one of those famous Monk’s dishes, maybe a drink or two and lots of good laughs while we help raise money for the horses!
