We're excited to be part of the Barks for Books Dog Show Fundraiser benefiting the Sally Stretch Keen Memorial Library!

🔥 HOT WEATHER ALERT 🔥
The next few days are expected to bring extreme heat and humidity to our area. While many dogs enjoy being outdoors, hot weather can become dangerous much faster than most people realize.
Panting is how dogs cool themselves, but when temperatures climb, panting may not be enough. Heat exhaustion and heat stroke can develop quickly—even during a normal walk, backyard play session, or time spent relaxing outside.
🐾 Walk early in the morning or later in the evening
🐾 Bring water on every outing
🐾 Check pavement before walks
🐾 Provide plenty of shade and fresh water
🐾 Limit strenuous activity during peak heat
🐾 NEVER leave your dog in a vehicle
Pay attention to warning signs:
⚠️ Excessive panting
⚠️ Excessive drooling
⚠️ Bright red gums
⚠️ Weakness or lethargy
⚠️ Vomiting
⚠️ Stumbling or collapse
If you suspect your dog is overheating, move them to a cool area immediately, offer cool water, and contact your veterinarian.
Please take the heat seriously this week. Your dog depends on you to keep them safe. ❤️🐾
