Hooligan House - Roommates! ⭐️⭐️/5

As I hinted in my last review, there was an unexpected development after our field trip. I was informed not asked mind you but simply told that I would now have roommates. I did not ask for roommates. I had not anticipated roommates. I thought I would have this glorious space as well as all of the attention from the staff entirely to myself. Instead, I now have to share with two other kittens. Two other stinky, rambunctious, kittens - and to make matters worse they are boys! So I guess I need to introduce you to these two interlopers. The orange one, seen here playing with MY giant crinkle ball is Stephan. The silver gray tabby is Cole. I guess I have no choice, but to allow them to stay with me. It won’t be too bad as long as they remember that I am the one in charge!

Oh my Cat, after that horrible spa day I didn’t think things could get any worse. In fact, I was thinking of taking my review up one star for the excellent accommodations and food that I was being provided during my stay. However, events this week have unfortunately meant the loss of a star.
The day started out beautifully. I got to spend a little time outside in what the staff called “sunshine therapy”. The manager insists that supervised fresh air and sunshine is good for kittens. I then went back in for a lovely lunch with a little Chiru thrown in as a treat. But the afternoon activity left way much to be desired.
I was just settling down for my mid afternoon, but before supper nap when I was rudely awakened and put into -of all things -a carrier that had previously been used by a dog. I immediately voiced my dismay, but the manager insisted that it was the best carrier she had for someone of my size. And then she took me to a local facility where I don’t even want to think of the terrible things that were done. I was poked. I was prodded. I was probed in a place no kitten should be probed. I was “intaked’ into their systems and then I was sent on my merry way with nothing to show for my trauma but a microchip. No Churu, no treats, just back into the carrier.
But little did I know that my days of quiet, solo introspection were over. I will have to update you later on the next horror that occurred.

So far my stay at this place hasn’t been too horrible. When I first arrived, I was greeted by some loud barking things, but they were quickly ushered away from my accommodations. The evening was spent quietly with only a few interruptions with the staff checking on me, which is exactly how I preferred. This morning - however! Oh! My! Cat!
I was rudely awakened at the ungodly hour of 8:30 AM with the staff coming in and taking me for what they called a spa treatment. I did not sign up for this! Readers - this was water and soap! Two things that everyone should know a kitten is absolutely against. They kept telling me this was for my best good but I definitely disagree. After that torture was over at least they did have the decency to give me a warm towel massage. And only once I was deemed suitably dry was I allowed to have breakfast! Anyone who is familiar with cats should know that breakfast must be served promptly on time and before any other activities occur in the day So alas, at this time, I could only give them three out of five stars. Hopefully the accommodations improve because I was informed I will be here for several weeks.

Sometimes it just takes having the right people in the right place at the right time to make a big difference. I was fortunate enough to be part of something like that today. I was at the grocery store picking up some needed items for the weekend when I found out there was a kitten under a car in the parking lot. After about 40 minutes of coaxing from myself and quite a number of other worried people we were able to capture this little cutie. Welcome to Hooligan House, little Kay Roger! (And thank you Tammy who first saw her and stayed to help rescue her as well as giving her an awesome name!) Your life just took a turn to be so much better!

We are going on an adventure! Rumi, Jinu, Mira and Zoey are off for a “spa day” with the wonderful folks at The Snip Station! These absolutely sweeties will be available for adoption soon! (Zoey using Rumi as a pillow here is cracking me up, btw)

Safe to say the fosters are settling in well! Meet the Soggy Bottom Kittens! Everett, Delmar, Pete, Tommy and Penelope with mom Allie. They are some of the kitties that were part of the prison cat population at Parchman. Through the efforts of local rescues, around 50 cats were fixed with some going back to their home there and others being “paroled” and available for adoption - like these cuties!
While I wasn’t planning to foster again until next month how could I say no to some escapees in need 😄
