Five years ago this month, my long time friend, with me since 2008, was rehomed after my health became too bad for me to care for him. In addition to over $1000 being raised to get him to Ginger's, Seymour picked up an admirer by a "bird" friend who continues to send him her homemade birdie treats and his absolute favorite balsa blocks to destroy.

Never underestimate the affect a bird and you can have on people.

It's been a hard year since the last Tekko con at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center for Tekko where Heart and Soul Parrot Rescue has the greatest time teaching some of the greatest people about companion birds. Last year was the last one for Mala but Ziggy and Maddy was there this year to honor their buddy.

Event will be going on all day tomorrow and Sunday afternoon.

We had a great time yesterday with Heart and Soul Parrot Rescue at Rose Point Park Cabins & Camping teaching people about birds. Afterward, we all packed up the birds and took them to Fast Eddy's Restaurant where they welcomed us on the back patio.

The GEICO Gecko found a bird who wouldn't eat him. Fifi, from the Heart and Soul Parrot Rescue, was at the Bridgeville, Pennsylvania Day on the Avenue.
