Some dogs herd. Some hunt. Some protect the house.

Kyle’s dogs take their job very seriously—keeping watch and making sure no potential danger goes unnoticed! 🐾

We know every dog has a job they’ve assigned themselves. Maybe it’s supervising chores, protecting the yard, riding sh***un, keeping the couch warm, or making sure no snacks go uneaten.

**What’s your dog’s job?**

🐾 **September Case of the Month: Blade**

Blade originally came to see us for a chronic limp in one of his front legs. He was doing okay with a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication, but his family wanted to see if we could get him feeling even better.

We started by adding joint-support supplements, including green-lipped mussel and omega-3 fatty acids. Blade showed a little improvement, but he still wasn't quite back to doing the things he loved.

Our next step was adding monthly Librela injections to his pain-management plan.

And Blade is back to **FETCH!** 🎾

He's running around, playing, and enjoying his favorite dog things again. Seeing him get back to the activities that bring him joy is exactly what we want from a pain-management plan.

September is Animal Pain Awareness Month, and Blade is a great reminder that pain management isn't always one-size-fits-all. There are different options available, and sometimes finding the right combination can make a huge difference.

**Getting older is normal. Living in pain isn't.**

If you've noticed changes in your pet's mobility, activity, or the things they enjoy doing, reach out. Let's find a plan that helps them live their best life.

Apparently there was a little confusion about the holiday…

The clinic will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day while our team enjoys a well-earned long weekend.

We’ll be back in the office Tuesday morning, ready to care for your pets!

We hope everyone has a safe and relaxing Labor Day — or Labrador Day, depending on who you ask. 🐾

Hunting season is almost here! 🐾

Before your hunting buddy hits the field on opening day, make sure they’re ready for the adventure:

• Vaccines are up to date
• Flea and tick prevention is on board
• ID tags and microchip information are current
• They’ve been conditioned for long days in the field
• Plenty of fresh water is packed
• A pet first-aid kit is ready to go

A little preparation now can help keep your hunting partner safe, healthy, and ready to have the best time doing what they love.

Here’s to a safe and successful hunting season for everyone—two-legged and four-legged!

We’re officially ONE! 🎉🐾
One year ago, Great Plains Veterinary Clinic opened its doors, and what a year it has been.
We are incredibly grateful to every family who has trusted us with their beloved pets, supported our small business, recommended us to friends and welcomed us into this community.
From our very first appointment to where we are today, we couldn't have done it without you.
Thank you for making our first year so special. Here's to many more! ❤️

🐾 **Creepy crawlies in kitty ears!** 🐾

We had some tiny (and slightly creepy 😬) visitors at the clinic today—**ear mites!** We were able to catch a great video of one crawling around under the microscope. 🔬👀

Ear mites can cause some seriously itchy, uncomfortable ears, but the good news is they’re **very treatable**! These sweet kittens are getting the care they need and should be feeling much better soon. ❤️🐱
