A Heart For The Helpless. A Chained Dog’s Plea~
I wish someone would tell me
What it is that I’ve done wrong. Why do I have to stay chained up
And left alone so long?

They seemed so glad to have me
When I came here as a pup. There were so many things we’d do
While I was growing up. But now the Master "hasn’t time"
The Mistress says I shed. She doesn’t want me in the house,
Not even to be fed. The Children never walk me. They always say, "Not now." I wish that I could please them. Won’t someone tell me how? All I had, you see, was love. I wish they would explain

Why they said they wanted mine,
And then left it on a chain.

Her eyes met mine as she walked down the corridor, peering apprehensively into the kennels. I felt her need instantly and new I had to help her. I wagged my tail, not too exuberantly, so she wouldn't be afraid. As she stopped at my kennel I blocked her view from a little accident I had in the back of my cage. I didn't want her to know that I hadn't been walked today. Sometimes the shelter keepers get too busy and I didn't want them to think poorly of them. As she read my kennel card I hoped that she wouldn't feel sad about my past. I only have the future to look forward to and want to make a difference in someone's life. She got down on her knees and made little kissy sounds at me. I shoved my shoulder and side of my head up against the bars to comfort her. Gentle fingertips caressed my neck; she was desperate for companionship. A tear fell down her cheek and I raised my paw to assure her that all would be well. Soon my kennel door opened and her smile was so bright that I instantly jumped into her arms. I would promise to keep her safe. I would promise to always be by her side. I would promise to do everything I could to see that radiant smile and sparkle in her eyes. I was so fortunate that she came down my corridor. So many more are out there who haven't walked the corridors
So many more to be saved. At least I could save one. I rescued a human today.

Feeding your dog Blue Buffalo or Blue Wilderness Dog Food? Wondering why your canine doesn’t seem to be doing well? Sadly, despite all their enticing television commercials, another Class Action Law Suit has been filed against Blue Buffalo Pet Products. Note that Blue Wilderness dog foods are also...

If you see an animal outside tonight or tomorrow PLEASE call animal control or the local police department. If you get no response KEEP CALLING till you do. There are laws in Illinois and an animal HAS to have appropriate shelter FOR the conditions. They HAVE to have water. No animal outside will have water tonight or tomorrow that isn't frozen. To many dogs and cats are being found frozen to death. Some had no shelter, some couldn't reach their shelter, some died in their dog house. We MUST insist that these laws are ENFORCED. THEY HAVE NO VOICE. WE MUST be that voice. Please don't stand aside and watch them die. If you have an outside dog, the dog house will NOT be enough tomorrow. Unless it's insulated and full of straw. Even then it is too cold. But AT LEAST DO SOMETHING. A bare doghouse will NOT protect your dog from the cold. EVERYONE has a room they can bring a dog into to keep them warm. THIS is what happens when they have a dog house with NO PROTECTION.

Last night I was locked out of the house in these freezing cold temperatures! I yelled and cried for someone to let me in but my family seemed to ignore me. Once they even opened the door and told me to shut up! I tried to keep my body temperature up by curling up and tucking in all my extremities but I could feel the frost bite setting into my toes. I cried harder, And still my beloved family paid no mind. Eventually I fell into a restless sleep as my heart rate slowed in the freezing wind. I’m sure they just forgot I was out there, because nobody would let their family member suffer through such a nightmare.

Love,
The pet you decided to leave outside 🐾

Bring pets in.. temperatures are expected to drop into the negatives this week. Don't leave them to suffer or die.

Pleaseeeee think about the pets outside.
If you can’t bring them in... get them warm shelter.
Check their water bowls.
THINK OF THEM!!!!
