Happy Sunday ☀️

07/21/2026

🥵 **Man, it's HOT!** Texas summers are brutal... and not just for us. Our pets feel the heat too.

We could write a really long post explaining how dogs and cats don't sweat like we do and rely mostly on panting to cool themselves down... but let's be honest—who reads those? 😄 So here's the simple version:

☀️ Keep pets indoors during the hottest part of the day.
💧 Always provide plenty of fresh, cool water.
🌅 Walk and exercise early in the morning or later in the evening.
🎾 Keep them entertained with fun indoor games when it's too hot outside.
🚨 If your pet shows signs of overheating—excessive panting, weakness, drooling, vomiting, or collapse—**CONTACT YOUR VETERINARIAN IMMEDIATELY.**

Keeping your pets safe this summer doesn't have to be complicated. A little extra care goes a long way.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and help keep your furry family members safe! ❤️🐾

Senior dogs are always welcome at LAMBOS Farm. 🐾💛

If your sweet older pup needs a little extra care, a slower pace, medication, mobility assistance, or just some extra love and attention, we are happy to accommodate!

We know that senior dogs deserve comfort, patience, and gentle care, and we’re honored to provide that while you’re away. Every gray muzzle, cloudy eye, and slow tail wag is treated like family.

Because growing old should never mean being left out. 🐶✨

One thing we see far too often in rescue is dogs suffering from heat exhaustion and heat stroke—and it’s completely preventable.

Because we’re constantly at veterinary clinics with injured, sick, and abandoned dogs, we see a lot! We also know a lot of people who work in vet clinics, including the veterinarians and techs so witness firsthand how quickly the Texas heat can turn into a life-threatening emergency.

We also see loving owners who simply don’t realize the danger. They just want to give their dogs a nice walk or let them play outside. Unfortunately, good intentions don’t protect dogs from extreme heat.

The Texas heat can kill your dog. There really isn’t a gentler way to say it.😭

If it’s hot enough that you have to question whether it’s safe, it probably isn’t. Walk early in the morning or after the sun goes down, always test the pavement with the back of your hand, bring plenty of water, and never push your dog beyond their limits.

Heat stroke happens fast, and emergency veterinary care can cost thousands of dollars. More importantly, even with treatment, not every dog survives.

We love seeing people out enjoying life with their dogs—but during a Texas summer, sometimes the most loving thing you can do is stay home, keep them cool, and wait for the temperatures to drop.

Please don’t take chances. Stay cool. Stay safe. Your best friend is counting on you. 🦮☀️

Go visit Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter!!

Empty the Shelters® returns July 5–26! 💙💚

Summer is one of the most challenging times of year for animal shelters. Kitten and puppy season brings an influx of homeless pets, while adoptions often slow down—leaving shelters overcrowded and stretched for resources.

That's why BISSELL Pet Foundation is partnering with shelters and rescues across the country to help more pets find loving homes through reduced adoption fees of $70 or less.

Keep your pets safe and happy this holiday weekend!

Keep your pets safe and happy this holiday weekend!

**Fireworks may be fun for us… but they can be terrifying for pets. 🎆🐾**

With the 4th of July holiday coming up, WVHS wants to remind our community to take a few extra steps to keep pets safe, calm, and at home where they belong.

Every year, shelters see an increase in lost pets around the holiday because loud fireworks can cause even the most well-behaved animals to panic, bolt, or escape.

Before the celebrations begin:

🐾 Make sure collars and ID tags are secure
📱 Check that your pet’s microchip information is up to date
🏠 Keep pets indoors in a safe, quiet space
🎶 Use music, fans, or white noise to help drown out fireworks
🚪 Double-check gates, fences, doors, and windows
📸 Take a current photo of your pet just in case
🚗 Please do not bring pets to fireworks shows or crowded events

If your pet is especially anxious, now is the time to contact your veterinarian about safe options to help them through the holiday.

A little preparation can make a big difference. Let’s keep pets safe, calm, and home this 4th of July. ❤️🤍💙

🎉 100 Pets 🎉

Today we’re celebrating a milestone that means so much to us.
100 amazing pets have come through the doors of LAMBOS Farm Pet Lodge!

When we started this journey, we dreamed of creating a place where pets would feel safe, loved, and at home while their families were away. Seeing that dream become a reality, one wagging tail and happy purr at a time, has been more rewarding than we ever imagined.

To every family who has trusted us with your furry family members: thank you. Thank you for believing in us, supporting our small business, and allowing us to be a part of your pets’ lives. Every cuddle, game of fetch, belly rub, and bedtime tuck-in has been an honor.

This is only the beginning, and we can’t wait to welcome the next 100 pets through our doors.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for helping our little dream grow into something so special. Here’s to many more happy tails, muddy paws, and unforgettable memories! 🩷🐶🐱
