Golden Island Thoroughbred Rescue Inc. Our mission will be to give retired racehorses, the rehabilitation, care and training they need to be skilled performance horses in the hunter/jumper circuit.

Horses may also be well suited for dressage, trail riding, pleasure riding and hunter/eq flat.

Meet Lacey — a 6-year-old, 16.2hh Off-The-Track Thoroughbred (JC: Littleladyisawoman) ready to find her next show partner!

This girl is brave, brave, brave to the jumps with tons of scope and an incredibly easy, amateur-friendly way of going. She trailers easily and has the kind of brain everyone hopes for in a young horse.

Lacey is a true hunter type — not racey, extremely organized to the jumps, thoughtful around the turns, and naturally balanced. She carries herself beautifully while still being a soft, float-the-reins, leg ride type. Adult and junior friendly, she’s currently working on her lead changes and offers them, just not yet fully automatic.

She’s jumping up to 3’6 at home with a junior rider and has already proven herself off property. At her very first horse show last week, she was an absolute professional in the 2’3 hunters. She also schooled around a 2’6 ring easily at warm-ups on 5/12 without batting an eye.

This horse is only just beginning her journey, and the potential is truly exciting. Grab her now and jump right into show season! She’s scheduled to continue showing at larger venues this year including Fieldstone, Vermont Summer Festival, and Kentucky Horse Park, and we know she’s going to thrive there.

We would love to find her forever person to continue along with ❤️ Price will increase with continued training and showing.

At Vanderzicht Stables we absolutely love watching our students grow and turn into avid equestrians… but it takes offering an amazing herd of athletic, trained and well cared for horses to get our riders to the levels they need to be! In our spare time spare time we make new hunter/jumper thoroughbreds (and other breeds) for our clients and the equestrian world to enjoy! We are so excited to welcome Vader to onto our training team! He is the most beautiful black 7 year old, 17.3 hand ottb with a puppy dog personality! He has settled in nicely and in full work which he is loving!
His race name is LabanMmo. We are excited to work with him and be apart of his journey!
