Meet Maple. She and her 8 siblings recently arrived at Meow Mission NJ after being rescued from a horrific hoarding situation of over 100 cats.
When you look at Maple, she looks like a fragile 6-month-old kitten weighing just 6.16 lbs. But our vets confirmed a devastating truth: Maple is actually at least 3 years old. Prolonged, severe starvation and gross malnutrition during her key developmental years completely stunted her growth.
She spent the first three years of her life in darkness, never knowing what a toy was, never sleeping on a soft bed, and frantically inhaling food—frequently vomiting because she was terrified she would never see another meal.
Despite the unimaginable neglect she survived, Maple is a fighter. But right now, she is facing a painful medical crisis.
She has been battling a severe ear infection that refused to clear up. Our vets at Overpeck Creek Animal Hospital just performed an urgent procedure to remove a nasopharyngeal polyp deep inside her ear canal, alongside a biopsy and cytology to check for further complications.
Her life-saving surgery and treatment today cost exactly $1,726.94.
