"ROLLING GREEN" - BIG FALLS, MN. In July 1977 the entire NYC Skyline went black. The power went out. The line: "Relax folks, Lets roll some green" actually stemmed from a memory from my father. That memory was probably from June 1984 and the reason I remember that fact is that I lived with my dad at the time and we were watching the Lakers Celtics playoff. Interesting facts: The Lakers were originally the Minneapolis Lakers and my dad was an artist who built chainsaw carvings for Bud Grant who played basketball for the Minneapolis Lakers before they moved to LA. The Mondavi w**e brand also started in Minnesota and moved to CA. Here is Florida: The Miami Dolphins were founded by a Minnesota man, "Joe Robie" and the Minnesota Vikings were founded in MIAMI!
I went off on a tengent! Sorry folks!! Dad was dating a New Yorker at the time. Her name was Karin (Kah Rin) We lived in a house on the Bigfork river in MN. Very nice place but the mosquitos would pick you up and fly away with you if you were not careful. One day dad came home with an old dark metallic green pickup truck which had a wooden bed. I'd estimate that truck to be around 1965 or so. It was ugly as f**k, just one of his work trucks. He took a can of spray paint and painted on the side of that truck "Rolling Green"
