Two Brand Ranch Performance Horses

Sharing this one close to home - some of our family, Chuck and Kadie Hughes, are dispersing their entire Cwm Ceffyl Ranch Texas Longhorn herd located in Kiowa, CO.

They've spent more than 25 years building this program in the Bijou Basin - breeding for that striking color, big impressive horn, and the kind of gentle temperament Longhorns are loved for. It's been a huge part of their life, and with some changing health circumstances, they've made the tough call to offer the whole herd (~125 head) in one complete dispersal.

If you know anyone in the Longhorn world - starting a herd, growing one, or just wanting to add serious color and horn to their program - I'd love if you'd share this along. It would mean a lot to see their cattle go to good homes.

Mama sure stamped him to look just like her 🤎

Thank you to Schwartzenberger Equine for breeding and foaling him out.

We always keep track of where our horses go and where they end up. You cannot always control the outcome, and sometimes that is the hardest part about breeding, raising, and training your own. What we can control is doing our very best to guide each horse toward the right path and place them in homes where they can truly thrive.

We sold Give Me The Shivers last year and have loved watching her journey continue to unfold. She was recently sold at The Art of the Cowgirl sale as the high seller from her barn’s group, and we could not be more excited for this next chapter.

We’ve heard she is headed into ranch versatility, which is a direction we always felt suited her best. It is incredibly rewarding to see that vision coming to life.

Wishing her new owners all the best as they begin this next adventure together. We will always be cheering her on.

Congratulations to Primal Performance Horses on the purchase of our homebred mare, Roan Jett! We are thrilled to see her continue her journey next year in the derbies with Dawson Performance Horses. A huge thank you to Chris and Sarah for bringing this deal together. We’ve cherished our time as part of your barn over the past two years—you're not only skilled horsemen but also dear friends.

A special thanks to Stefan for his dedication in showing "Styx" during her 3yo year and giving her a great opportunity at the 2024 Snaffle Bit Futurity. Styx, sired by Stevie Rey Von and out of our beloved broodmare, Starlights Sailor, who passed away this year, is carrying on her dam's legacy, and we couldn’t be prouder. We wish her all the best in this next chapter!
