Story County Animal Control & Shelter is responsible for overseeing and addressing animal control issues and concerns in rural Story County, as well as 12 cities that have agreements with the county for animal control and/or sheltering services. Adoptions will be done by appointment only, after an approved application is submitted. By sponsoring an animal through petfinder, the petfinder foundation notifies us right away that we have received a donation, and ensures that our shelter receives it. If the animal you sponsor gets adopted, don't worry, that money will be used to care for the many other animals waiting to find their forever homes.
