🚨 BREAKING NEWS: DOBBY PUPDATE! 🚨
A few weeks ago, Dobby was found running along Route 51 in heartbreaking condition. He was severely emaciated and suffering from bilateral entropion—a painful condition where the eyelids roll inward, causing constant irritation to the eyes.
After an exam with our amazing Dr. Z at Alpha, we learned something incredible. Because Dobby had lost so much weight, there was virtually no fat left around his face, causing his eyelids to turn inward. Rather than rushing into surgery, we focused on what Dobby needed most: nutrition, patience, and time.
Dogs in Dobby's condition are at extremely high risk for refeeding syndrome, so every meal was carefully managed as we slowly helped him regain strength.
And now for the good news...
🎉 Dobby has gained nearly 10 pounds!
🎉 He is eating on a normal feeding schedule!
🎉 His entropion has completely self-corrected!
One of the biggest changes isn't something you can measure on a scale. When Dobby arrived, he looked defeated. His posture reflected how uncomfortable he was, and every movement seemed to take effort. Today, he stands taller, carries himself differently, and looks so much more comfortable. He still voices his opinion about kennel life—often and loudly—but the second he gets out to spend time with us, he's all smiles, tail wags, and pure happiness. Watching him learn to enjoy life again has been every bit as rewarding as watching the weight come back on.
Saving a life like Dobby's comes with a feeling that can't be explained. There are no words for the moment they realize they're safe. No words for watching them choose joy after everything they've been through.
For now, Dobby is enjoying his pit stop. He still has some weight to gain and healing left to do, but he is the HAPPIEST boy. We can't wait to watch him continue this journey and eventually find the family he deserves. ❤️
