We’ll meet at the Mess Hall before we get moving. We’ll go over a few walking tips, work through some drills as needed, and then enjoy a walk with the pack!

Our Prey Drive Class is happening tomorrow at 7:00 PM at Pioneer Park, and there's still time to reserve your spot!

Grab your leash, your walking shoes, and your pup because we'll be taking over Tower Park in Fort Thomas tonight!
📍 Meet at the Mess Hall 🕖 7:00 PM
We'll kick things off by covering a few walking tips and tricks, work through a couple of training drills if needed, and then put those new skills to work with a pack walk around the park. It's a great opportunity to build better leash manners, improve focus around distractions, and have some fun with other dog owners!

🐾 Training Tip Tuesday: Don't Overthink It! 🐾

Dogs are incredibly good at reading us. They notice our body language, our tone of voice, and even our emotions. When we overthink every training session or become overly emotional about our dog's mistakes, our dogs often begin to mirror that same uncertainty.

One common example is planning every single step of every walk. While it's smart to think ahead and avoid unsafe situations, trying to map out every route, every distraction, and every possible encounter can actually become counterproductive. Real life is unpredictable, and training should prepare both you and your dog to confidently work through those unexpected moments—not avoid them altogether.

If you're constantly worrying about whether you're giving the perfect command, using the right reward, or stressing over every little setback, your dog may become hesitant, anxious, or confused. Instead of building confidence, we can unintentionally create it.

Successful training isn't about being perfect—it's about being clear, consistent, and confident.

🐶 Keep your commands simple.
🐶 Stay calm when things don't go as planned.
🐶 Celebrate the small wins.
🐶 Don't be afraid of real-world challenges—they're opportunities to practice.

Your dog doesn't need a perfect handler. They need a calm, confident leader who can adapt to whatever comes their way. Confidence is contagious, and when you trust yourself and the training process, your dog is much more likely to trust it too.

It's shaping up to be a busy week at H3K9, and we'd love to see you and your dog join us!

🎓 Group Obedience Classes Begin Sunday, July 19th!
Whether you're just getting started or ready to take your training to the next level, we've got a class for you!

🐕 Basic Obedience: 9:00 a.m.
🐕 Advanced Obedience: 10:30 a.m.

Each class meets once a week for six weeks and is designed to help you build a confident, well-mannered dog you can enjoy anywhere.

🚶 Wednesday – Pack Walk

We'll cover leash walking tips and tricks, practice a few helpful drills if needed, and then enjoy a structured pack walk through the park!

🍕🍺 Thursday – Our First Thursday Social!
📍 Braxton Brewery & Dewey's Pizza – Union

💲 $20 per dog

This special pop-up class is reserved for dogs that have successfully completed both our Basic and Advanced Obedience classes or have passed a private evaluation to ensure they're ready for this type of public environment. It's a great opportunity to put those real-world skills to work while enjoying an evening out!
