Little Miss Kate went to her first show (along with her beautiful mom)& I couldn’t be happier. I’m so grateful to Andrew Whetton & Lisa Dimelow at Doveleys Shires & Clydesdales for getting her out in her home country before she heads to the shows here. 💜
For my American friends: in England they use red ribbons for first place instead of blue like we do here. 🏆

Historically, gastric impaction in horses has a poor outcome. Researchers at Utrecht University retrospectively reviewed cases of gastric impaction to evaluate whether treatment with cola was associated with improved survival.

Of the 125 cases included, 57.6% were discharged from the hospital. Horses treated with cola had a greater likelihood of survival: 82.8% vs. 35.8%. Non-Friesian horses treated with cola had 90% survival.

The Shire breed has lost a great ambassador & those whom love him have lost even more. My heartfelt condolences to all those blessed to have been amongst Wayne’s family & friends.
