YOUR DOG CANNOT ESCAPE THE HEAT — PLEASE READ THIS. 🥵🐾
We can’t express this enough!
We are a veterinary clinic, and we are asking you to please take this heat seriously.

We see this far too often. Even when we're away from the clinic, we drive around our community and see dogs outside in this heat—walking on hot pavement, tied out in yards with little or no shade, and sometimes with no visible water. We know people love their pets. But sometimes people simply don't realize how dangerous these temperatures are.

Your dog cannot tell you, "I'm too hot." By the time you realize something is wrong, it can already be an emergency.

PLEASE:

🌡️ Don't walk your dog during the hottest part of the day.
If you're uncomfortable standing outside, your dog is probably uncomfortable too. Hot pavement can burn paw pads, and dogs can develop heatstroke surprisingly fast.

🌳 Make sure there is REAL shade at home.
A tiny patch of shade that disappears as the sun moves isn't enough. If your dog is outside, they need a cool, shaded area where they can actually get out of the sun for the entire time they're outdoors.

💧 Fresh, clean water should ALWAYS be available.
Not a bowl that has been sitting outside all day getting hot and dirty. Check it. Refill it. If it gets knocked over, your dog has nothing.

⛓️ Please don't chain or tether your dog outside in this heat.
A dog tied in a yard cannot move freely to find shade, water, or a cooler place. And a dog that becomes tangled or panicked has even fewer options. If you wouldn't want to be stuck outside in those conditions, don't make your dog stay there.

🏠 Bring them inside when it is dangerously hot.
Your dog does not need to live outside. Air conditioning isn't a luxury when temperatures become extreme—it can save a life.

🐾 Don't assume your dog is okay because they have done it before.
Heatstroke doesn't care if your dog is young, healthy, large, small, fluffy, short-haired, or "used to the heat." Some dogs are more vulnerable, but every dog can overheat.

And please remember: a dog can be in serious trouble before they collapse. Excessive panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, diarrhea, stumbling, confusion, bright red or pale gums, or collapse are warning signs that should never be ignored.

We aren't saying this to judge anyone. We're saying it because we see what happens when heat exposure goes too far.

And if you are struggling to keep your pet safe in this heat, please ask for help. There are rescue organizations, animal welfare groups, shelters, and people in our community who may be willing to help with temporary shelter, shade, supplies, or other resources. Do your due diligence. Make the calls. Ask questions. Reach out.

There is no shame in asking for help. There is shame in knowing your pet is suffering and doing nothing because you didn't try.

Your dog has no choice about the weather.
You do.

Keep them cool. Keep them hydrated. Give them shade. Don't leave them chained or tethered outside. And when it's dangerously hot, bring them inside.

Because at the end of the day, your dog is counting on you to recognize the danger before they have to. They can't turn on the air conditioning. They can't fill their water bowl. They can't untie themselves. They can't tell you they're in trouble. You have to be their voice and make the decision for them.

They don't get to choose whether they're outside. You do. Make the choice that keeps them safe. ❤️🐶

❤️🐾 SYCCEE IS STILL WAITING… PLEASE HELP HER FIND HER FOREVER HOME 🐾❤️

“Sometimes the first home teaches us what the right home truly looks like.”

Meet Syccee—a sweet, goofy, affectionate girl with a heart full of love and so much life left to share.

When Syccee was adopted, everyone hoped it would be her happily ever after. While she settled in beautifully in many ways—taking her medications, being potty trained, and bonding with her new family—it also helped us discover some things we couldn’t have known in a shelter environment.

Wire crates are extremely frightening for her, and living near neighboring dogs caused her significant anxiety. She wasn’t being “bad”… she was overwhelmed and trying to cope with situations that felt scary to her.

Because of what we learned, Syccee is now starting medication to help manage her anxiety, in addition to the heart medication she already takes. These medications will likely be part of her lifelong care, and we’re committed to helping her find a family that is, too.

❤️ What Syccee Needs

Syccee is looking for a patient family who understands that some dogs simply need a little extra support.

She would thrive in a home that offers:
• A calm, predictable environment
• A safe alternative to a wire crate
• Consistency with her medications and veterinary care
• Patience, kindness, and reassurance
• Thoughtful management around other dogs

In return, you’ll receive endless kisses, hilarious zoomies, unwavering loyalty, and a best friend who loves with her whole heart.

When Syccee came to MAC in February, she was underweight, covered in sores, heartworm positive, and had every reason to give up on people.

Instead, she chose to trust.

She healed. She blossomed. She became the silly, loving, happy girl everyone at MAC adores.

Now all she needs is someone willing to see beyond her special needs and recognize the incredible dog she truly is.

Not every rescue dog has a perfect past or an easy road. Some simply need the right person—the one who understands that love sometimes comes with a few extra responsibilities.

Sadly, dogs like Syccee are often overlooked while puppies, moms with babies, and dogs without medical or behavioral needs quickly find homes.

But we believe her person is out there.

If you’ve ever considered opening your heart to a dog who will love you more than you ever thought possible, Syccee is waiting.

Please share her story. The right person may not even know they’re looking for her yet. ❤️🐾

Negative or derogatory comments will be removed. This page is a place of kindness and support as we work together to find Syccee the loving forever home she deserves.

# ❤️🐾 RETURNED-PLEASE HELP SYCCEE FIND HER FOREVER HOME 🐾❤️

*“My name is Syccee, and I’m still waiting for the family who will understand me and love me forever.”*

My first adoption helped everyone learn more about what I need to feel safe and happy in a home. I took my heart medication, potty trained, loved my family, and enjoyed spending time with them.

Once I was home, it became clear that being confined in a wire cage was extremely frightening for me. I also struggled with the neighbor dogs and became very uncomfortable around them. These were challenges that weren’t fully understood until I was in a home environment.

I wasn’t trying to be difficult. I was scared and overwhelmed, and I didn’t know how to communicate what I was feeling.

My adopted mom cared about me, and together we learned that I need a very specific kind of home—one that understands my emotional and medical needs, avoids wire-cage confinement, and can thoughtfully manage my interactions with other dogs.

I am now starting anxiety medication to help me feel calmer and more secure. I also take heart medication and will need a family committed to continuing my care.

I am so much more than the things that frighten me.

I am a loving, goofy, affectionate girl. I give kisses, enjoy my people, and form deep, devoted bonds with those I trust. I may have extra needs, but I also have an extraordinary amount of love to give.

# # 🩺 My Care Needs

- I am starting medication to help with my anxiety.
- I take heart medication and need continued veterinary care.
- I do best with a calm, predictable routine.
- Wire cages are extremely stressful for me, so I need a safe alternative.
- I was previously underweight, had skin sores, and was heartworm positive. I received treatment, and those issues have been resolved or are being successfully managed.

# # 🏡 My Forever Home

I’m looking for someone who:

- Has experience with quirky dogs or dogs with extra needs—or is open to learning
- Understands that I need both emotional and medical support
- Can give my medications consistently
- Will offer patience, reassurance, and gentle structure
- Can thoughtfully manage my interactions with other dogs
- Will see my quirks as part of who I am, not as flaws

My journey began in February, when I arrived underweight, covered in sores, heartworm positive, and unsure if anyone would ever choose me.

The people at MAC helped me heal. They showed me kindness and gave me reasons to trust again. I blossomed into a joyful, silly, affectionate girl who greets life with kisses and has completely stolen their hearts.

Now I’m waiting for my next chapter.

# # # 💔 A Message From Syccee

To the person who gave me a chance, thank you for opening your heart and your home to me.

I’m sorry I wasn’t the perfect fit. I hope you find the dog who is just right for you, because I know they’re out there somewhere.

Please don’t think I didn’t love you. I did. I loved my time with you, your family, and the care you gave me.
Please forgive me.

After everything I’ve been through, I’m still hoping for forever. ❤️🏡🐾

Negative or derogatory comments will be deleted immediately. This is a safe place for Syccee to be able to share her story.

❤️🐾 WELL… LOOK WHO FINALLY GOT ADOPTED! 🐾❤️

Turns out all I had to do was apply for every job imaginable before someone hired me as a full-time family member.

My résumé included:
🦖 Tiny dinosaur
🐸 Professional frog
👗 Fashion model
🩰 Ballerina
👩‍⚕️ Assistant veterinarian
🤓 Neighborhood librarian
😎 Security guard
❤️ Certified Good Girl

Apparently… “Forever Best Friend” was the position I was born for.

A week ago, I met someone special. I gave her my sweetest kisses, my best wiggles, and my very best “please pick me” eyes.

When she left, she whispered, “I’ll be back Friday.”

I’ve heard promises before…

So I waited.
I hoped.
I crossed all four paws.

And guess what?

She came back.

❤️🐾 Meet my mom. 🐾❤️

The day we’ve all been waiting and praying for has finally arrived…

I’m adopted!

Back in February, I came to the clinic scared, underweight, sores on all 4 legs that had to be treated, heartworm positive, and wondering if anyone would ever choose me.

But my MAC family never gave up on me.

They loved me through every treatment.
They spoiled me with pajamas, costumes, treats, and endless snuggles.
They laughed at my goofy personality and reminded me every single day that I was worth waiting for.

And they were right.

My mom drove two hours just to bring me home.

Before I left, everyone made sure I was ready for my new adventure.

My medicine? ✔️ Packed.
My food? ✔️ Packed.
My treats? ✔️ You KNOW those came with me.
And most importantly… my medical records. ❤️

After all, home is two hours away, so I’ll need to find a new veterinarian closer to my forever home.

Home… Wow. That has such a nice ring to it.

I’ll miss seeing all my friends at MAC, but I can’t wait to make new friends at my new vet’s office. I hope they love me half as much as my MAC family did… although I think I’m pretty easy to love. 🥰

Tonight, for the first time in months…

I won’t be sleeping at the clinic.

I’ll be sleeping at home.

I’ll have a backyard to zoom around in, toys to scatter everywhere, a comfy bed to claim as my throne, and someone to tell me I’m a good girl every single day for the rest of my life.

To everyone who shared my story, prayed for me, rooted for me, and believed my person was out there…

Thank you.

Because of you, one little girl who once knew abandonment will now only know love.

The clinic says they’re going to miss me…

(Who’s going to model all the ridiculous outfits now?! 🤔😂)

I’ll miss them too.

They weren’t just the people who cared for me.

They became my family until I found my forever family.

Some dogs stay with us for a little while.

Some leave paw prints that never fade.

I hope I did both.

Now if you’ll excuse me…

I’ve got tennis balls to chase, squirrels to supervise, Kongs to conquer, a backyard to explore, and approximately six months’ worth of saved-up kisses to give my mom.

I waited a long time.

I never stopped believing.

And today…

I finally went home. ❤️🏡🐾

With all my love,
Syccee

P.S. To my MAC family… thank you for loving me when I needed it most, for believing in me, and for never letting me forget I was worthy of a forever home. I’ll think of you every time I race across my backyard, snuggle into my bed, or make new friends at my new vet. You’ll always be part of my story. ❤️

**🤠 Well... it's almost Friday. ❤️**

My new mom promised she's coming for me on **Friday**.

Everyone here keeps telling me, *"Syccee, you're going home."* They smile when they say it, and I wag my tail because I want so badly to believe them.

They've even packed my bags.

My medicine is ready.
My important medical records are all together.
Everything I'll need for my new life has been packed with love by the people who've cared for me these past several months.

Now...

All that's left is to wait.

But if I'm being honest...

I'm scared.

I've been waiting here since **February**. I've watched families come and go. I've watched other dogs leave while I stayed behind. After waiting this long, it's hard not to wonder...

**What if she changes her mind?**

What if something happens?
What if she decides she doesn't want me after all?

My heart wants to believe this is finally my turn, but it's been broken before.

So if you could do one little thing for me, would you please say a prayer that my mom walks through those clinic doors on **Friday**, just like she promised?

Pray that this waiting finally comes to an end.

Pray that the next car ride I take isn't back to my kennel... but home.

A home with a backyard.
A comfy bed.
A family to love.
A mom who chose **me**.

I'll be watching that door until she comes.

With all the hope this little heart has left...

**Love,**
**Syccee** ❤️🐾

*P.S. Mom... if you're reading this, I'm still saving all my kisses just for you. I hope Friday is the day I finally get to give every single one of them to you. I can't wait to come home.* 🥹💕

🐾 **Two Hearts. One Forever Home.** 🐾

We have some wonderful news to share! ❤️ Every other pet we recently had available for adoption has either found their forever home or has a pending adoption.

That leaves just these two precious kittens... and we know their perfect family is still out there.

These sweet babies share a bond that's impossible to ignore. The moment they're separated, they cry and search for each other. They bring each other comfort, security, and love, which is why they **must be adopted together**.

They have already been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed, and they're ready to begin the next chapter of their lives with a family who will love them both.

Please help us find the special home they deserve—a safe, loving, **indoor-only** home where they'll always have each other.

If you've been thinking about adding a furry friend to your family, why not add two? You'll be giving these inseparable best friends the greatest gift of all: a lifetime together. ❤️🐱🐱

Please stop by the clinic to fill out an adoption application, and if you can't adopt, please **share this post**. The right person may be just one share away.

**🤠 Well... I had a visitor today. ❤️**

They came to meet me, gave me lots of love, and said they might come back on **Thursday** to take me home.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up...

Thursday feels like a long way away when you've already been waiting since February. Sometimes people change their minds. Sometimes they talk themselves out of it. So, until I walk out those doors with my forever family, I'm keeping my heart open.

If you've been looking for a sweet, loyal girl who loves tennis balls, comfy beds, and Kong treats, maybe you're the one I've been waiting for.

I hope Thursday is my day... but until then, I'm still accepting applications for someone to love me forever. ❤️🐾

**Love,**
**Syccee**

*P.S. If my Thursday family is reading this... I'm saving all my kisses for you. I can't wait to finally come home.* 🥹🐾

**Syccee is still waiting.*
JUST LOOK AT THAT FACE
Syccee has already been through more than most dogs ever should. She was abandoned, left without the care and safety every dog should know, and came into our clinic heartworm positive. She fought through treatment, and while she made it through, the damage to her heart means she will need medication for the rest of her life.

And still, she loves.

She is still sweet. Still affectionate. Still full of life. She still gets excited over her tennis balls, finds comfort in her bed, and happily works on treats stuffed in her Kongs. Through everything she has endured, Syccee has held on to the most beautiful spirit.

What’s heartbreaking is that she keeps getting overlooked.

Not because she isn’t wonderful. Not because she isn’t worthy. But because her story comes with medical needs, and too often that means people move on without seeing the incredible dog standing right in front of them.

Syccee is not a burden. She is not her past. She is not just a diagnosis. She is a loving, loyal, joyful dog who has so much of herself left to give. All she needs is someone willing to give her a chance.

**How much longer does she have to wait?**
How many more days will she wonder why no one has chosen her?

Syccee deserves more than abandonment. More than recovery. More than being passed over again and again. She deserves a home. A family. A soft place to land. A person who will look at her and say, **“You’re mine. You’re safe now. You’re loved.”**

**Please, don’t let Syccee spend another month waiting.**
If you can open your heart and home to a dog who has every reason not to trust, yet loves anyway, Syccee is waiting for you.

She has waited long enough. ❤️🐾

07/24/2026

Syccee is here to show you just how helpful she can be when your Amazon box arrives! 📦🐾 Don't worry—she doesn't chew on just anything. She's wonderful with her beds, loves chasing her tennis balls, and happily spends her time working on treats stuffed in her Kongs.

Syccee has been through more than any dog should. She was abandoned and came into our clinic with heartworms. She has completed her heartworm treatment, but because of the damage the disease caused, she'll need to remain on heart medication. That doesn't stop her from living life with a happy heart or giving all the love she has to offer.

She is still waiting for her forever home. Syccee's personality is larger than life—she's sweet, funny, affectionate, and always ready to make you smile. She deserves a family willing to look beyond her medical history and see the amazing companion she truly is.

Could you be the one to give Syccee the second chance she's been waiting for? She'll repay you every single day with unconditional love. ❤️🐶
