Do you know what part of the hoof allows it to flex? I'll give you a hint... 🐸
It's the frog! Because of the frog's specialized anatomy, the hoof can flex outwards as the hoof is compressed during the loading phase. This is also when blood is compressed out of the hoof and up the leg!
The frog stay specifically allows for independent movement of the heels, giving the horse stability even when navigating rough and uneven terrain 🏜🐎
