Postural improvements by reducing toe length/leverage. Cannon bones are tending towards being perpendicular to the ground and the horse is not standing as over at the shoulder.

Before and after on a rear left hoof of a QH mare who's "back hooves can't be trimmed" anymore...

Nothing my mini hoof stand couldn't handle!

Already seeing clear improvements in NPA and posture, with the cannon bone becoming more perpendicular to the ground. This releases tension on the lower back and hamstring of horses. It also means horses aren't using "movement" muscles to hold themselves upright, which seriously damages the quality of a horse's stay apparatus.

Heel development and symmetry for Luna.

Her trim had involved leaving her heels "asymmetrical" so that the medial (compacted) heel can drop down. In reality, her "crushed" heel was way higher than her other heel, causing excessive flaring and unsupportive horn growth that rolled in towards to hoof because, even though it looked relatively similar in height to her lateral heel, it was actually much longer.

Her heel bulbs are much more symmetrical now, and her heel horn is growing up rather than being crushed.

These are both after-trim pictures, the first from July 10, and the second from February 11th.

Changes in caudal hoof volume. When the frog is engaged, the digital cushion is stimulated. The lateral cartilages flex and thicken. The hooves hold up to varied terrain better. Incidence of NPA is reduced.

We can see how much "deeper" the back of these hooves look now as the structures have become better balanced and stimulated.

Post-trim normal neutral posture. Sometimes we are so focused on the hooves that this HUGE purpose of trimming goes on the back burner, but NNP is an absolutely CRUCIAL piece to the puzzle of equine husbandry.

Neutral posture is critical for horses because it's:

✔ congruent with gravity
✔ reduces risk of injury
✔ distributes weight evenly across a horse's body
✔ doesn't require active muscular work for horse to remain upright
✔ allows for better quality rest
✔ enhances performance
✔ optimizes movement and gaits
