Friends, we have someone very important that we would like to introduce you to.
We were recently contacted by a colleague regarding a young pup who had gotten a pretty a lot rough deal in life. Our mission is to end canine cruelty. And this, this girl right here had definitely seen some cruel things.
🐞 Meet Ladybug 🐞
The information we learned was that Ladybug endured a significant amount of abuse in her short 18 months on this earth. She spent the majorly of her time locked in her crate and when out, experienced scary things at the hands of her owner.
One day this summer, these scary things occurred when Ladybug was out in public where people could see. Several tried to intervene, and police were called, but Ladybug was injured and the situation was traumatic to all 💔. Ladybug found her way to safety at a small shelter with just two animal control officers.
The officers looked at Ladybug, terrified and broken, and knew that it was important that actions have consequences and they for one would not stand for cruelty. They didn’t know what her outcome would be, she had endured so much and was terrified, but they were committed to give her space, positive associations, and do their best to provide a better life for her.
Today, Ladybug’s former owner pled guilty to animal cruelty 👏🏻
This weekend, we welcomed Ladybug 🐞 into Pitness Protection. We weren’t sure what to expect, or if she’d trust us, but so far, she has blown us away with her progress in just a few short days. She is generalizing that people are good, friends are fun, and that the world doesn’t have to be so scary. We will continue to open her world one friend at a time, and show her just how wonderful can be.
Thank you to the wonderful ACOs, law enforcement agents, prosecutors, etc who shouted to the rooftops that we will not stand for animal cruelty 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
