Having become a professional dog trainer in 2016, I have discovered a deep passion for helping others experience the joys of life with their beloved canine companions. In addition to my professional work, I also volunteer my time to tra

Witnessing the transformation that occurs when someone receives a service dog is truly awe-inspiring, and it has only my desire to help others train not only their pet dogs, but also their own service dogs. My ultimate goal is to make a positive impact on the lives of both dogs and their owners, and I am committed to achieving this through my work as a dog trainer.

🐾 PJ Update: First Public Access Trip! 🐾

PJ recently took a big step in his service dog journey with his first public access training trip to Target! 🎉

For a young service dog, a busy store can be a lot to take in.

Shopping carts rolling by. People walking in every direction. Kids, noises, automatic doors, and endless distractions around every corner.

But that's exactly why these outings are so important.

PJ practiced staying calm, paying attention to his handler, and working through all the excitement of a real-world environment. Every successful outing helps build the confidence and experience he'll need as he continues working toward becoming a reliable service dog.

The best part?

PJ handled his first Target trip like a champ! 👏

He's still got plenty to learn, but every milestone brings him one step closer to making a meaningful difference in his owner's everyday life.

🐾 Another Great Community Class in the Books! 🐾

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our third community puppy and dog class this weekend!

It was so much fun seeing dogs and their owners getting out, practicing together, and making progress in a real-world environment. Every class is a chance to build confidence, work through distractions, and help dogs become more enjoyable companions.

One of our favorite parts is watching both the dogs and their owners grow in confidence from the beginning of class to the end. Those little victories add up to big changes at home!

Thank you again to everyone who came out and to Pause 4 Paws Canine Trainer for another great class. We can't wait to do it again!

🐾 Meet Walter! 🐾

Please help us welcome the newest member of the Belly Up Dog Training family... Walter! 🎉

Walter is a 5-month-old Boxer with two things in endless supply: Energy and Excitement

Like many Boxer puppies, Walter is always ready for his next adventure. Whether he's exploring, playing, or making new friends, he approaches life with enthusiasm that's impossible not to smile about.

With all that excitement, though, comes a few challenges we'll be working on together. As Walter grows, we'll be helping him learn how to channel that energy into good habits that make everyday life easier and more enjoyable for both him and his family.

We can't wait to watch his confidence grow, celebrate his victories, and share his journey with all of you.

🐾 Annie Update! 🐾

Annie recently took a trip to Rural King, and it was a great reminder that progress isn't always perfect, and that's okay!

When we first arrived, Annie was very excited. There were new smells, people, shopping carts, and so many interesting things to explore. For a puppy, that's a lot to take in!

But instead of staying caught up in all the excitement, Annie gradually settled down and started getting back into her groove.

By the end of the outing, she was making much better choices and showing just how much she's been learning.

That's what real progress looks like.

It's not about being perfect the moment you walk through the door. It's about learning how to work through excitement and settle into the situation.

Those are the moments that lead to calmer outings, more enjoyable adventures, and a dog you can confidently take with you.

We're so proud of Annie and all the progress she's making. 🐶✨

🐾 This Weekend Is Our Community Puppy & Dog Class! 🐾

Our next community class is almost here, and we'd love to see you and your dog there!

If you've been wanting to help your puppy or young dog become more comfortable around other dogs, people, and everyday distractions, this is a great opportunity to get some real-world practice in a fun and supportive environment.

Whether your dog gets overly excited, has trouble paying attention outside the house, or just needs more experience in new places, this class is designed to help you both grow together.

💲 $20 per dog

Don't forget to bring:
🐶 Treats or your dog's favorite toy
🐶 A well-fitted collar or harness
🐶 A standard 6-foot leash (no retractable leashes)

Requirements:
✔ At least one handler per dog
✔ Proof of up-to-date vaccinations (must include veterinarian letterhead)

🐾 Charli Update! 🐾

Charli has been working on one of the most useful everyday skills a dog can learn, leaving things alone. And she's already becoming a master at it! 👏🐶

For curious puppies, everything looks like it could be a toy. Shoes, socks... and in Charli's case, the grandkids' toys! 😄

That's why this skill is such a game changer. Instead of rushing over to investigate everything she sees, Charli is learning that not everything is hers to pick up or play with.

That means less worrying about chewed-up belongings, fewer interruptions, and more peace of mind for her family.

And when the grandkids come over? Everyone can relax a little more knowing their toys are much more likely to stay where they belong (until when Charli's partner in crime gets involved, but we're working on it 😁).

We're so proud of how quickly Charli has picked this up, and we can't wait to see what she accomplishes next! 🐾✨

🐾 Rex Update! 🐾

Rex has reached an exciting milestone in his service dog journey. We've officially started scent detection training! 👏🐶

This is the beginning of teaching Rex how to recognize a specific scent that can eventually become an alert for his owner.

It may look simple from the outside, but there's a lot happening behind the scenes.

Right now, Rex is learning that finding the correct scent is a fun and rewarding game. As he becomes more confident, we'll continue building on these skills one step at a time.

It's amazing to watch a puppy use one of their greatest natural abilities, their incredible sense of smell, to begin learning a skill that could one day have a meaningful impact on someone's daily life.

Rex is still at the very beginning of this journey, but every successful search is another step toward becoming the service dog he's working so hard to be.

We're incredibly proud of his progress and can't wait to see where this next chapter takes him. 🐶✨

🐾 "I'm so proud!" 🐾

That's something we hear a lot.

Take Marley, for example.

When she first started training, everyday life was frustrating for her family. Walks weren't enjoyable, visitors could be overwhelming, and it often felt like Mabel's excitement was in charge instead of her.

Fast forward to today...
