Start your Labor Day the elite way:
by letting a rescue dog drag you around Dr. Powers Park like you’re the world’s slowest sled.

📍 Dr. Powers Park — Lowell & Chester side
⏰ Tomorrow morning — early, because the dogs voted and apparently they’re morning people 7:30-10 am when its cool

Our rescue pups are friendly, social, loving, and absolutely ready to sniff every blade of grass like it’s a crime scene. Come walk a dog, get some fresh air, and pretend you’re athletic for 20 minutes.

They’ll smile.
You’ll smile.
Someone might accidentally eat a leaf.
It’s a win‑win.

🌸 Skye Is Home — Truly Home 🌸
Yesterday, our beautiful mama Skye officially left Tracy DogGirls Rescue and stepped into the life she always deserved. One of our long‑termers, one of our gentlest souls, and one of the most beloved dogs to ever walk through our doors… Skye is finally home.

This girl has been a mama many times over — to her own babies Bulleit and Kai (still waiting for their forever families), and to eight beautiful rescue puppies last year. She gave them everything. She poured her whole heart into raising them. And now, God has placed her exactly where she was meant to be all along.

☀️ Her New Life Is Pure Peace
Skye is treasured by a couple who adore her.
They take her on long walks (she’s already lost a few pounds!), let her sunbathe in the backyard like the queen she is, and cuddle her on the couch while watching reruns — exactly the life we always knew she wanted.

She is safe.
She is cherished.
She is understood.
She is home.

💛 A DogGirls Favorite, Forever
Skye was loved by so many of our walkers, volunteers, and fosters. Her calm spirit, her soft eyes, her gentle mama heart — she touched everyone who met her.

We will miss her.
But we will never stop loving her.

She will always be part of the TDGR family, always one of our mamas, always one of our miracles.

Much love, Skye.
You are forever loved, forever remembered, and finally right where God intended you to be.

Happy Tails Skye.

We think we are close enough to $5 Friday right?

💔 Another Tough Day at the Vet — Rescue Doesn’t Slow Down
Some days in rescue feel heavier than others, and today is one of them. We never want to keep asking for help, but when our dogs need urgent medical care, we have no choice but to lean on our community — our village — once again.

Today, two dogs were rushed to the vet for critical ear issues. $800.88 vet bill and it is going to grow with the second visit today.

🐶 Dottie — Follow‑Up Care
Dottie went in for a follow‑up appointment to determine whether her treatment was working. Her ears were previously so inflamed and infected that the vet couldn’t even see inside them.
Good news: she is finally on the road to recovery. Her sweet spirit never wavered.

🐶 Milo — Urgent Surgery
Milo is new to our rescue, transferred from another rescue that simply didn’t have the funds to support his medical needs. His ears were just like Dottie’s — severely swollen, infected, and draining pus.

He just got out of surgery today for a suspected foxtail, abscess drainage, and to check for additional foxtails. One ear is so swollen the vet still can’t get a clear look inside.

He is out of surgery and 3 foxtails were found yes THREE!

🐶 Luna, Dottie, Milo — Three Dogs in Two Weeks
Three dogs.
Two weeks.
All with severe ear infections requiring urgent medical care.

And through all of this, these dogs have been nothing but sweet, gentle, and non‑aggressive. They are in the hands of the most dedicated fosters — people who take time off work, drive them to appointments, clean their ears, administer meds, and love them through the pain.

We are endlessly grateful for them.

❤️ Why We’re Asking for Help Again
We can support our fosters up to a point — but medical bills like these hit hard and fast.
Last week’s donations helped us tremendously, and we are so thankful.
But today, we need help again.

If you weren’t able to donate last week and you have $5–10 to spare today, please consider donating. Every dollar goes directly to the medical care for Dottie and Milo.

Your support keeps us going.
Your generosity saves lives.
Your kindness reminds us we’re not alone in this work.

We are truly grateful — more than words can express.

🐾 Bonzai — The Sweet Senior Gem Ready for His Spotlight
Bonzai has been part of our rescue family for a while, quietly winning hearts behind the scenes — and now it’s finally his turn to shine. This boy is truly something special.
💛 Who Bonzai Is
Bonzai is 8–9 years old, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He’s the definition of a gentle soul — soft‑eyed, affectionate, and grateful for every bit of love he receives.

He’s the kind of dog who doesn’t demand attention… but melts into you the moment you offer it.

🐶 Dog & Child Friendly
Bonzai does best with slow introductions to other dogs, but once he warms up, he genuinely enjoys playtime. He’s also sweet with children, making him a wonderful companion for families who move at a calm, patient pace.

🏡 What Bonzai Needs
Bonzai is a flight risk, especially in new environments. He needs a patient adopter who understands that bonding takes time — and that once he trusts you, he gives his whole heart.

Slow, structured introductions to new dogs
A calm home with patient humans
Time to acclimate and feel safe
Secure environment during his initial adjustment period

He’s not complicated — he’s just a sensitive boy who needs someone willing to let him bloom at his own speed.

🌱 Why He’s Worth It
Bonzai is one of those dogs who becomes your dog — loyal, loving, and deeply connected. He’s playful, gentle, and so ready to finally be someone’s forever.

If you want a dog who will adore you, appreciate you, and settle beautifully into a stable home, Bonzai is your boy.

💗 Hazel — Our Long‑Waiting Mama Who Still Believes Her Family Is Out There

Hazel has been with us longer than most. Long enough to watch every one of her babies get adopted. Long enough to meet new dogs, new volunteers, new families… and still wonder when it will finally be her turn.

And honestly? She deserves her moment more than anyone.

Hazel is a beautiful American Bully, gentle‑souled, people‑loving, and endlessly patient. She’s had at least two litters, raised her pups with that steady mama heart, and now every single one of them is gone — thriving in their forever homes.

Hazel is still here.
Still waiting.
Still hoping.

🌼 Hazel’s Personality
Kid‑friendly sweetheart — gentle, tolerant, and loves being part of a family

Dog‑friendly with proper intros — she has met several dogs and done beautifully

Calm, affectionate, and deeply loyal

Thrives with slow, structured pack walks

We take introductions slow and easy — safety first, always — and Hazel has shown us time and time again that she can coexist peacefully with other dogs when the environment is set up right.

🌸 What Hazel Wants
Hazel doesn’t need much.
She doesn’t ask for much.
She just wants her people.

A couch to curl up on.
Kids to love.
Humans to follow from room to room.
A family who sees her not as “the last one left”… but as the one who was worth waiting for.

💕 Are You Her Family
Hazel has been overlooked for far too long, and we know her person is out there — someone who wants a loyal, gentle, affectionate companion who will love them with her whole heart.

If you’re reading this… maybe it’s you.

Our rescue is hurting right now, and two dogs who’ve already endured more than any animal should are depending on us — and on the kindness of people who care.

Luna came to us after being kept in a cage, her ears so infected she cried when touched. She needed **two urgent vet visits**, each **$265.80**, just to begin easing her pain. She’s finally resting comfortably, but healing her took more than love — it took resources we’re struggling to keep up with.

And then came Dottie.

Dottie arrived this week in heartbreaking shape — **severely matted**, scared, and clearly suffering. What started as emergency grooming quickly revealed something much worse. Her **bloodwork is abnormal**, her **ear is infected and matted**, she’s now on **antibiotics**, and we’re waiting on **x‑ray results** that may mean even more treatment ahead. Her care has already reached **$1,080**, and it’s still climbing. We are waiting for the next steps to bring her back to health.

In just two weeks, we’re facing **over $1,500 in vet bills**, all for two girls who never asked for anything except safety and kindness.

If you’re able to help, even a small donation makes a real difference. You’re not just covering a bill — you’re giving Luna and Dottie the chance to finally feel safe, healthy, and loved.

Thank you for seeing them, for caring, and for standing with us.

💛🐾 Happy Tails: Echo — Now Opal — From a Box to a Forever Family
Some adoption stories feel like fate stepping in.
Opal’s story is one of them.

Echo — now Opal — was one of the four tiny puppies found dumped in a box at Del Osso Park, left with no protection, no comfort, and no idea what their future would be. A finder initially agreed to foster for TDGR, but after being discouraged by a citizen, she backed out and took the puppies to Dublin Shelter instead.

And honestly… thank goodness Dublin reached out.
Because that call changed everything.

When Roberta and her family stepped up — at the very last minute — these four babies finally found safety. They were brought into rescue, medically cared for, loved, and given the chance every puppy deserves.

🌸 Opal’s Transformation
Opal is the adorable black‑and‑white girl of the group — tiny, silly, and full of personality.
We still have no idea what breed she is (each puppy looked completely different), but we do know she is pure joy.

She loves to play with anything that isn’t a dog toy — classic puppy chaos.
She has a human sister she is growing up with, and their bond is absolutely beautiful.
She loves, loves, LOVES shredded chicken — her favorite treat — and devours it like it’s the greatest thing she’s ever tasted.

Opal is treasured.
She is adored.
She is a cherished part of her new family.

🏡 A Forever Home That Was Meant to Be
Opal’s family loves her deeply, and she is living the life every dumped puppy deserves — safe, spoiled, and surrounded by love. All four puppies found incredible homes, and we are endlessly grateful to Roberta for stepping up when everything was uncertain.

And we are grateful to Dublin Shelter for working with us to bring these babies to safety.
Partnerships save lives — Opal is proof.

🎉 Happy Tails, Opal
From a box…
To a shelter…
To a foster…
To a forever family.

🐾❄️ Shiloh — Our Stunning 2‑Year‑Old Malamute Mix Still Searching for Her Forever Family

Shiloh is still waiting… and if you know her story, you know this girl has already had her heart broken once. She had a family who adored her, treasured her, and wanted her — but the mom’s severe allergic reaction made it impossible for them to keep her. Everyone was devastated. Shiloh included.

But this beautiful girl is ready to try again.
Ready to love again.
Ready to trust again.
Ready to find the family who will be hers forever.

💛 Who Shiloh Is
Malamute mix, female, 2 years old

Dog‑friendly — she enjoys seeing other dogs on walks
Kid‑friendly — gentle, sweet, and patient
Attention seeker — she LOVES her human and wants to be close
Cuddlebug — she melts into affection
Quiet girl — calm in public, calm in the car
Adventure buddy — she attends events with her foster and behaves beautifully

🐾 What She’s Learned
After 30 days in a home, Shiloh has grown up so much.
She’s calmer.
She’s more confident.
She understands routines.
She knows how to settle.
She doesn’t need a huge space — she just needs her person.

She loves walks, smelling plants, watching the world, and meeting dogs along the way. She’s big, but she’s gentle. She’s stunning, and she turns heads everywhere she goes.

🐱 Cats?
We haven’t tested her with cats, so at this time we recommend a no‑cat home until we know more.

❤️ Shiloh Wants One Thing: Her Human
She wants someone who will let her be close.
Someone who will let her be part of their day.
Someone who will give her the love she gives so freely.
She is ready.
She is hopeful.
She is waiting.
