They lost their person.
Not just their home. Not just their routine. Their person.
Brian and Boy are littermates who, along with their sisters Gladys and Scruffy, found themselves facing an uncertain future after the passing of the owner they had known and loved their entire lives. These littermates are approximately a year old.
One day they had a family. The next, everything changed.
Through their grief and confusion, these boys have remained remarkably loving. They still greet people with hopeful eyes. They still wag their tails. They still believe someone will love them again.
Boy, a 20-pound Shih Tzu mix, is the calmer of the two. He walks beautifully on a leash, is housetrained, dog friendly, and happiest when close to his people.
Brian weighs approximately 19 lbs and is full of enthusiasm and joy. He gets so excited about life that he's still polishing his leash manners, but his affectionate personality shines through in everything he does.
Both boys are housetrained and have a spa day scheduled for October 27. Boy is already handsome, but Brian's classic flowing Shih Tzu coat may have quite the transformation. We're leaving the styling up to the groomer and can't wait to see the result!
The family of the deceased loved these dogs deeply and is incredibly grateful to @ Okanogan Regional Humane, Okanogan County Everything Dogs, HAWA, and Fur Ever Yours Animal Rescue for coming together to help Brian, Boy, Gladys, and Scruffy during such a difficult time.
Now these brothers are ready for the next chapter.
They don't know why their world changed.
They don't understand loss the way humans do.
They only know they are still waiting for someone to love.
Applications are now being accepted. These boys will complete their veterinary care before joining their forever families. Both should be ready for their new homes around Nov 1st.
If you've been thinking about adding a best friend to your life, please take a second look at Brian and Boy.
They have already had their hearts broken once.
Let's make sure the rest of their story is filled with love.
