Dad and I were out today and a lady had a "lap dog" in a stroller and another young dog on a leash in a local establishment.
I tried to ignore them and walk by but their dog ran up to me and got in my face.
As a fully trained service dog (with over 175 hours of training) I'm pretty good at figuring out if it's a threat to me or my Dad so I'm going to react accordingly if they get too close to us.
I got close to Dad and put my paw on his foot like I do in certain situations.
The lady said "If he's a working dog then he shouldn't react that way"
This is why we continue to try to educate..
Even when I'm working, if we get approached by a dog in a threatening or non-friendly manner, I'm going to defend my Dad.

We Honor and Remember you !

Today is a "triggering day" for a lot of veterans but I'm proud to be able to help my dad.
Even though we are sad, today we Honor all friends and fellow veterans we have lost this year.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month

As a service dog, I take my job seriously even though I can be a goof at times.
You see, I help my dad in many ways even if you don’t see his disabilities and to be honest, people don’t need to know what they are.
All you need to know that when we are together, I’m working. Don’t worry... I do get downtime for play and relaxation. I even get to watch my favorite show, Paw Patrol.

Sometimes all we have to do is be there for the times we are needed.
No training can replace natural instinct.. this is why I chose Dad so I could help him through times like this.
He is and always will be my hero.

So Mom and Dad figured it was time to clean out and put new blankets in my crate...
I wasn't happy with Dad so I let him know by trying to steal parts of my old blankets when he was putting them in the garbage bag.
Best part about it is I got a new comforter and a new blanket so I will be warm and comfortable when I have to go in my crate.
Not only that, but Dad had to raise my food bowl to the highest level it could get because now I'm a big boy.

Hi guys... I'm at the vet for my annual exam today.
I didn't like being poked and prodded too much but it's ok.
I have some stuff going on with my ears so I had to get some medicine...I didn't like how it felt but Dad says it'll make me feel better.
Everyone at the vet office said that I have the coolest looking eyes so yeah, I flirted a little bit of course.
Hope everyone is doing well and staying cool in this heat.

Flying high and feeling fine. As per my story I’ve made the top 10!!!!
Thank you everyone for the continued support and votes. My pack and I are trying to bring awareness of the many ways service dogs aid their handlers.

As many know I am a Service dog for my Navy Veteran Dad. He is also a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) survivor. I guide him, warn him of an on coming migraine, do pressure therapy, and love on him when I sense he is having a bad day. This is why if I win we want to donate half of the winnings to K9s For Warriors.

Here is their mission statement:

Determined to end Veteran su***de, K9s For Warriors provides highly-trained Service Dogs to military Veterans suffering from PTSD, traumatic brain injury and/or military sexual trauma. With the majority of dogs being rescues, this innovative program allows the K9/Warrior team to build an unwavering bond that facilitates their collective healing and recovery.
