Paw Huggers Animal Rescue relies solely on volunteers, fosters, and donations. We at Paw Huggers are grateful for such a giving group of foster volunteers. By fostering an animal in need, you are able to show them what it is like to be in a safe environment full of love. Many of our animals have not had the chance, or have forgotten what it is like to be part of a family. Fostering a dog or cat is

a tangible and rewarding way to make a difference in that animals life. Every foster space that we have available takes another animal off of the streets. It is difficult to learn the true personality of an animal that is caged all day in a boarding facility. By fostering these dogs and cats we are able to learn their personalities and better evaluate them for their forever home. WISH LIST:

Welcome Olive to Paw Huggers!
This girl was found a few months ago and the finder did the responsible thing by reaching out to rescues to make sure she ended up in a good home. They just didn’t have the time to commit to her. She is not potty trained. She is good with other dogs and children. The rest we shall find out soon enough.

Vetting will begin stat because her teeth are in rough shape, she is not spayed and has had no vetting that we know of. No chip and no owners came forward after posting all over.

She might be a foster fail but she has to fit in with all the critters. 😳

This little was across our creek stuck on a little island area. I walked probably a mile and a half total, through the woods in my waders trying to find a shallow place to cross bc I’m an old chicken these days. Carried her the entire way back. I’ll weigh her later but I’d say at least 20lbs. She’s scared and wet and I’m worn out but she is safe now. Just a baby. Will get her vetted asap and up for adoption. We could really use some help with her vetting so if you can donate we would greatly appreciate it.

Remember Kip, the little chi that had two puppies?
Well one of her puppies was just adopted by a wonderful family that has adopted two other dogs from us. The timing couldn’t have worked out better. His foster family was flying to Oregon and his new family drove from Washington to pick him up. So he never had to go in the cargo hold or ride in a long transport. Gillis will be living with Brunson the big sweet pittie and Clover the little wild woman scruffy terrier mix. So happy for them all!

This little guy was homeless in this extreme heat, skinny (pictures don’t really show how skinny he is), covered in fleas, ringworm, has an upper respiratory infection but meowing and following me and my clients around. Sooooo he headed home with me and I have already started treatments.

We took in this little last week and she has a potential adopter but we thought she might be pregnant and the vet confirmed she had two babies that were due any day. Well that day came yesterday and the little family of 3 is doing well. Kip is the mama and we will have the babies named soon so stay tuned!

It’s that time again. Free puppies with Walmart purchase in Cleveland, TX🤪
Someone was giving away a litter of puppies and while we couldn’t take them all we got two and juts have to hope that the rest went to decent homes.
Meet Leroy & Ruby. Names courtesy of my 5 year old daughter and her Pawpaw! Lol

9 weeks old
Ruby is 4.9 lbs and Leroy is 5.02 lbs.
The people at Walmart said the mom is a husky and they think dad is a terrier.
