Forever missing my Porter boy. 🌈

It’s been over 6 months without him and I can still hear his bark plain as day. I still feel him nudge my hand because he wants me to trace more hearts on his face. I can still see him begging with his paws when I stop scratching his special spot.

I remember times when he would get so anxious when I wasn’t around, but when I was, he felt so much peace — and I felt very at peace when he was in my life, too. It was like we were always destined to find each other.

I’ve found that one of the hardest parts about grief and loss is that even if you have to stop and put yourself back together again for a while, the world keeps turning and life moves on anyway. It haunts me to know that each and every day, the last time I saw Porter gets further and further away.

Porter was such a special dog and I will never know another love like his. I love you forever, bubs. 💙
