Chonko pupdate!

We are 3 weeks into having Chonko into our program and he is THRIVING!
After his last visit with our great friends over at Midway Animal Hospital Inc. He has since completed his ear meds and is ready for his follow up vet visit to get his very much needed surgery scheduled for his ear tumor removal.

We have learned Chonko lives routine! He adores all his new friends and is a total sweetheart. He runs up to take medication and patiently waits for his after medication freeze dried liver treat. He is an absolute gentleman and doesn't mind getting his ears cleaned daily.

Chonko has had untreated chronic ear issues for a very long time resulting in pain,discomfort, and the ear canals being almost closed entirely shut by tumors. He needs this surgery to live a pain-free happy life.

We have raised a little over $200 towards his surgery but still need $355.

We are hoping to get this surgery in the next few weeks so donations are very much needed- can you help?

As a volunteer based 501c3 non-profit every penny donated goes directly back into caring for animals like Chonko. No amount is to small and every amount is so appreciated!

Momo (now Tilly) has been adopted!

Momo came to us after a life spent in a PuppyMill as a mill mama. She came to us broken and terrified but her amazing foster family helped show her life is good and that humans can be kind - slowly her personality blossomed.

Fosters save lives! We are eternally greatful to her foster family! 🥹

We are sad to see her go but so happy for the start of her new life as a beloved family member in a forever home🩷

We have puppies and we need your help!

Meet adorable & adoptable Rollo and Reese! These adorable boys are 11 week old Lab/Husky mixes searching for a family of their own.

Their current foster did have an unfortunate situation where a tree destroyed part of their fence so we are looking for seperate foster homes (preferably foster to adopt) so they can gain their independence and start to learn the world individually. Can you be this home?

Their current foster says-
They are doing well with kennel training but if you don't stick to their schedule will have an accident however its rare and they are doing good.

They are awesome with dogs and indifferent with cats. They absolutely adore children!

Rollo and Reese are very active and inquisitive pups! They would do best in an active home that will prioritize their exercise and individual personalities.

Oh Camo-

Camo came into our program as a reserved mild mannered 8 month old Presa Canario puppy who was confiscated from an illegal breeding program. The dog warden she had come from had done most of her vet care and being that she was so young and they had no reason to suspect otherwise sent her to us as fully healthy. Little did we all know however that this very young girl was hiding a secret. She came into the sanctuary pregnant and not just a little pregnant but gave birth 3 weeks later. She was never visibly pregnant and it wasn't until I walked by her suite and noticed her a bit more swollen than usual that we rushed her same day to the vet and it was discovered she was due to deliver. Our staff was so sad. This poor puppy! We were sick with worry but she made it through.

With the bitter came the sweet and she delivered healthy babies. She was the very best mama and made our staffs jobs so easy. She was the epitome of a wonderful momma.

Fast forward and this sweet girl is still in our program. All her puppies adopted but her daughter who is still available as well. Neither females have any interest at all. Both just living their day to day life with our staff waiting for their forever familys.

Camo is a very sweet girl. She is on the petite side for a Presa but is still a stocky large dog. She is mellow and mild mannered and just wants to be with humans. She doesn't mind other dogs and has never been around cats. She has been socialized extremely diligently and has always been a staff favorite however Presas require a home with giant breed experience. They are a highly intelligent and strong willed breed and although Camo is quite the unicorn for her breed will require a family that understands the breed and will accommodate to her size and training/socialization needs.

Camo is kennel trained, is extremely affectionate, and loves people.

We are on fire! Handsome and regal Johnathan left the sanctuary for his new life as a farm dog!

He spends his day doing everything eith his new best friend Andrew and every morning takes a swim! We couldn't believe it! This sweet guy swims! Not only swims but is obsessed with his new pond!

Johnathan is living his absolute best life in the perfect forever home!

This one was tough as Johnathan has been with us since birth and I often lost hope on him ever leaving the sanctuary as he had very little interest however patience showed me the wait was well worth it for him!

So we will miss you so much sweet boy but we are so happy you found your forever!

Odin living and loving his new life!

His family grew one singular pumpkin this year and Odin said it was his, picked it, and brought it to his humans door to show them. I think he's like myself and can not wait for Halloween! 🤣🥹❤️

Choosing to adopt can be a challenge and can require some work. Its not always sunshine and rainbows. Taking an animal that has been let down by humans and regaining trust can be hard. Watching them decompress and start to view the world through happier eyes is priceless. I often ask myself why I do what I do. The heartache, the ugly, the cruel things I see on a regular basis. I cry almost daily and some days I want to throw in the towel but then I get updates like this and it puts everything is perspective. My little group of rescuers will never be able to save everyone but for the ones we are able to save it means the world to them.
