🇺🇸🎆 Keep Your Pets Safe This Fourth of July 🐶🐱

While Independence Day is full of fun for us, it can be one of the most frightening days of the year for our pets. Loud fireworks, unfamiliar guests, and tempting holiday foods can quickly turn into dangerous situations.

Here are a few simple ways to help keep your furry family members safe:

🐾 Keep pets indoors before fireworks begin
🏡 Create a quiet, comfortable space where they can feel secure
🏷️ Make sure collars, ID tags, and microchip information are up to date
🚪 Remind guests to keep doors and gates closed
🍔 Skip the table scraps. While burgers or hot dogs aren't toxic, many holiday foods—including onions, corn on the cob, chocolate, grapes, raisins, alcohol, foods containing xylitol, and fatty or heavily seasoned foods—can be dangerous for pets
🎇 Never bring your pet to a fireworks display.
❤️ Stay with your pet if they're anxious, and offer comfort in a calm environment

Sadly, the Fourth of July is one of the busiest times of the year for lost pets. If your pet goes missing, contact your local animal control and shelters immediately, notify nearby veterinary offices, and share clear photos in local lost pet groups. Now is also a great time to confirm that all of your information is accurate and registered on their microchip.

It took months for my babies to get along but with guidance and A LOT of patience, they’re inseparable! It’s been 4 years since this and they cuddle up together all the time now. Learning the correct way to introduce new cats to the home is SO important 😄

Don’t be afraid to get help with your cats! It may be overwhelming introducing a new cat to the family, but the work really pays off❤️

UPDATE: We met with Ember and Mazie's family a few months back in hopes to help build Ember's confidence around her new sister Mazie and as a result, help them live happily with one another.

After a few months of implementing our behavior plan at home, we're happy to share these sweet girls are now enjoying their time together! We are so proud of the dedication from their family, and the continued growth of these girls learning this new life with one another. It's stories like these that warm our hearts and remind us if the reason we are so dedicated to our feline friends and their families!!🥰

Back in 2022 when my baby Ember was learning how to accept her new sister, Mazie!

We're so happy to introduce you to our newest friend, Ember!🐾

This beautiful girl has been learning about her new sister over the last month and has been feeling cautious about the idea of sharing her space with her. So, we met with their family to see how we can help Ember with the process and make this transition easier for everyone.
