✈️ Did you know your pet needs an official "passport" to travel internationally? It’s called a USDA International Health Certificate!

This crucial document proves your pet is healthy and free of contagious diseases, and it's required by most foreign countries. To be valid, it must be signed by a USDA-accredited veterinarian and officially endorsed by the USDA.

📋 What’s inside the certificate:
✅ Pet's basic info (Name, breed, s*x, age, and markings)
✅ Microchip or identification number
✅ Date of their health exam
✅ Accredited veterinarian’s signature and stamp

A heatwave is hitting NYC this week, and thanks to Petco cooling spots for your furry family members are available across the city. Save this map to your phone for quick access and share it with a fellow pet parent who might need it. A little planning now goes a long way when temps start climbing.

It's going to be hot! Keep your pet off the pavement during peak hours if you can. Stay hydrated! 💦

As temperatures rise and we move closer to summer, the season for heat stroke approaches. Knowing the signs and temperatures to look out for can mean the difference between a daily walk and an emergency situation.

We urge you to check the pavement before walks, keep exercise short and early, and always provide access to cool, shaded spaces with water.

If your pet shows signs of heat stress—panting, disorientation, vomiting, or collapse—move them to a cool area, apply lukewarm water, and call us immediately. Be safe out there this summer! ☀️🐾

4th of July Pet Safety🐾🎆

Consider double-leashing your pet this week.

A sudden firecracker or bottle rocket noise on the street can cause a dog to instantly slip their collar or snap a retractable leash. For the next week, consider double-leashing your dog: use a secure harness and a collar, with a separate leash attached to each, or use a slip-lead as a backup. 🙂
