We really need your help.

Right now, there are 60 cats and kittens at Lucky's Place.... 60...๐’๐ข๐ฑ๐ญ๐ฒ!

Every kennel is full. Every foster home we don't have means another cat has nowhere safe to go. And the phone keeps ringing with more requests for help, for unwanted cats, found kittens, and cats and kittens with nowhere else to turn.

We don't like saying โ€œno.โ€ But right now, we have no choice.

If you've ever thought about adopting, now is the time. If you've ever considered fostering, we need you more than ever. Even opening your home for a few weeks can save a life by making room for the next cat in need.

Every cat in our care has a story. Every one deserves the chance to find a family.

Please help us turn 60 into 59... then 58... then 57... until things become manageable again and we have room to say โ€œyesโ€ to the next life that needs us.

What a fantastic day of pickleball, laughter, community, and compassion! Our 2nd Annual ๐๐ข๐œ๐ค๐ฅ๐ž๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ซ ๐๐š๐ฐ๐ฌ ๐“๐จ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ was everything we hoped it would be, and it's all because of the incredible people who came together to support the animals at Lucky's Place.

Hi! We're Snowball and Zuess. ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ˜ป๐Ÿค

We're a pair of very adorable Siamese mix brothers, and we've spent our entire lives together. We'd like to keep it that way, and we really hope someone can help us do that.

Our family loves us very much, which is what makes this so hard. But they know there's someone out there who will love us just as much, if not more. A very young child in the home has developed allergies, and after trying everything they could think of to make it work, the allergies simply aren't improving. So here we are... hoping for the best possible next chapter.

We're about a year old, playful, curious, and always together. We spend our days wrestling, exploring, following each other around, and finding the best spots for a nap. If one of us is nearby, the other usually isn't far behind, if not piled right on top.

We're now neutered, up to date on our vaccinations, and ready to find a family of our own. We're happy to spend our days snuggling with our people, but don't let that fool you; we'd also make a pretty great indoor mousing team! ๐Ÿญ

Mostly, we're hoping someone sees two brothers who have been through a lot of change lately and decides they have room for both of us.

If your idea of a good day includes hiking trails, mountain air, long walks, camping trips, or basically anything outsideโ€ฆ we might just be soulmates! ๐Ÿ˜

Iโ€™m a 2-year-old Shepherd/Chow Chow mix with a real BIG personality and an even bigger love for adventure. Iโ€™ve got energy to spare, so Iโ€™m looking for a home that wants a dog whoโ€™s ready to GO with them. Road trips? Yep. Adventure? 100%. Exploring? Absolutely. Backyard zoomies? Why, they're my specialty!

Iโ€™m housebroken, super smart, and always ready for whatever comes next. Iโ€™d probably do best with kids around 12+ just because I get excited and bouncy when Iโ€™m having funโ€ฆ honestly, I can't help it, life is just REALLY exciting to me.

Right now, every single cat kennel at Lucky's Place is full. We have no available space to take in additional cats.

As heartbreaking as it is, if someone walks in expecting to surrender a cat today, we will have to say no. We never want to be in that position, but there simply isn't anywhere safe to house another cat.

๐Ÿพ๐ŸŽช From Shelter to Spotlightโ€ฆ and Back Again! ๐Ÿถโค๏ธ

One of our favorite surprises during fair week happened when The Canine Stars Stunt Dog Show, featured on America's Got Talent and touring North America with their incredible rescued dogs, stopped by to spend some time with the animals at Lucky's Place! ๐Ÿพ

If you've seen their performance at the Lincoln County Fair, you already know these dogs can fly, flip, race, and amaze a crowd. But what makes them even more inspiring is their story. These talented canine athletes are rescued dogs who have been given a second chance and the opportunity to shine.

Our shelter dogs absolutely loved the extra attention, belly rubs, and time spent with this amazing team. Moments like these brighten their day and remind us all just how special rescue dogs truly are.

A huge thank you to The Canine Stars Stunt Dog Show for taking time out of your busy fair schedule to visit our shelter pets and for everything you do to showcase the incredible potential of rescue animals. We are so grateful for your kindness and all you do to make a difference!

If you're looking for a dog who wants to be your bff, sidekick, hiking buddy, walking partner, and professional snuggle companion all rolled into one, you should come to the shelter so we can meet!

I'm 2ยฝ years old, and I absolutely love spending time with my people. Whether we're out exploring a trail, going for a walk, or just relaxing at home, I'm my absolute happiest when I'm with someone I love.

I'm a smart girl, too. I know a lot of basic commands and really enjoy learning new things. What I really need is someone who will continue helping me grow, give me clear guidance, and be the kind of confident leader I can trust.

I'd really prefer to be your one and only dog. Sharing my home with other dogs just isn't my thing. I'd much rather have all of your attention to myself, and honestly, I promise I have more than enough love to fill the role all by myself!

Where Does Our Money Come From?

One of the questions we hear most often is:
"๐–๐ก๐จ ๐Ÿ๐ฎ๐ง๐๐ฌ ๐‹๐ฎ๐œ๐ค๐ฒ'๐ฌ ๐๐ฅ๐š๐œ๐ž?"

The short answer? ๐˜๐จ๐ฎ ๐๐จ.

Lucky's Place is an independent nonprofit. The care we provide is made possible through the generosity of people who choose to support our shelter.

Our funding comes from things like:

๐Ÿพ Individual donations

๐Ÿพ Local businesses

๐Ÿพ Fundraising events

๐Ÿพ Memorial and honor gifts

๐Ÿพ Adoption fees (which cover only a small portion of an animal's care)

๐Ÿพ Grants we apply for and are fortunate enough to receive

Every dollar we receive helps provide food, medical care, cleaning supplies, enrichment, utilities, and everything else it takes to care for the animals waiting for their families.

There isn't one magical funding source behind the scenes.

There are thousands of acts of kindness.

Every donation, whether it's $5, a bag of food, sponsoring an adoption, volunteering your time, or attending one of our fundraisers, helps keep Lucky's Place running.

It truly takes a village, and we are grateful to everyone who is part of ours!
