💔😭 Heartbreaking: Travelers Reportedly Kidnapped, Attacked, and Tortured on the Bamenda–Ekok Road

Another painful chapter in Cameroon’s ongoing crisis has left travelers and their families terrified. 💔🇨🇲

Several travelers were reportedly kidnapped on the Bamenda–Ekok road on Monday, August 31, 2026, after armed men believed to be separatist fighters enforcing the weekly “ghost town” shutdown ambushed vehicles traveling along the route.

Nobody understands why these travelers were on such dangerous roads on a Monday, especially during the weekly shutdown. Their decision to travel at that time has left many people questioning what may have forced them to take the risk.

According to footage obtained , masked men carrying rifles were seen at the scene, while one of them claimed that the travelers had violated the Monday shutdown.

😭 The situation became even more disturbing when one of the vehicles, reportedly carrying tomatoes, was shown overturned in the bush.

The gunmen allegedly threatened to burn the vehicles.

A day later, images reportedly showed some of the kidnapped victims lying in the bush, with drivers appearing to have suffered severe machete injuries.

💔 One woman could also reportedly be heard pleading over the phone:

“I have helped many people in the family. You people should not abandon me here.”
Those words are heartbreaking.

Behind every vehicle on that road are human beings—drivers trying to earn a living, passengers trying to reach their destinations, and families waiting for their loved ones to return home safely.

The exact number of people kidnapped or affected has not yet been confirmed, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.

May God protect everyone traveling through these dangerous areas and comfort all those affected by this terrible incident.

SADNESS🚨 Crescence Merline Beguel, the woman found dead in a Yaoundé hotel, was not a pr******te but a respected hospitality teacher.🙏🏽

Here's what really happened.⬇️

"Crescence Merline Beguel, a 44-year-old culinary and hospitality teacher residing in Yaoundé, lost her life in tragic circumstances. Described by her family, students, and colleagues as a rigorous, caring, and devoted professional, she had gone to a catering appointment.

On August 25, approached by a potential client, she left her family home after informing him of the opportunity. According to the management of the Hotel Salvador VIP, located in the Fouda neighborhood, the man who had rented the apartment had furnished it the day before he went to pick up the victim. Shortly after their arrival at the apartment, cries for help were heard." The suspect attempted to flee through the bathroom ceiling before being apprehended.

Crescence's body was found at the scene, with a bloodied kitchen knife lying nearby. Several pieces of identification were discovered among the suspect's belongings during his arrest.

👨🏽‍💻 Why try to frame her? Why commit this act? These are questions only investigators can answer. Ms. Crescence was a respectable woman, and even if she weren't, no human being deserves to leave this world in such atrocious circumstances. Why was Congosa man CCC ARRESTED? I'll keep it short 👇

The issue is said to be linked to a post CCC made about some young men in Tombel around two months ago, accusing them of being involved in alleged “double SIM” activities.
The men contacted him, asking him to take down the post and insisting the claims were false, but the matter reportedly escalated from there and eventually led to his arrest in Yaoundé yesterday.

The parties have now agreed to resolve the matter out of court, but CCC is expected to refund 800,000 FCFA, said to be money spent by the complainants while pursuing the case.

That is why we are now contributing to help secure his release🙏🏾

BREAKING NEWS:

At least 52 people are feared dead after an overloaded boat capsized near Gorau in Goronyo LGA of Sokoto State.

The boat was reportedly carrying more than 70 people, including farmers and labourers heading to rice farms. About 40 children, mostly aged 10–15, were among the victims, while 16 people have been rescued.

Rescue and recovery operations are ongoing as authorities search for more victims. Reports say overcrowding and weak enforcement of waterway safety measures remain major concerns.
