One of the hardest things about pony ownership is knowing when it’s time for them to teach another child.
We are too attached to Chief to consider selling him and losing control of his circumstances. So Ford made the decision to let Chief go to our very responsible and trusted family friends, who have a little boy ready to learn, so that he continues to have a purpose. A family that loves their horses the same way we do and lives only a couple miles away.
Chief has been Ford’s friend, teacher, confidence builder, and partner for years. Before that, he was the one who taught Case to ride so confidently. But the truth is, great ponies are rare, and when they’re ready to help another little rider, they deserve that opportunity too.
Watching him make such a selfless choice has made us incredibly proud.
Sometimes loving a horse means sharing them.
Go teach another little cowboy, Chief. ❤️
