NOW HIRING: Top Dog — Train/Play Handler DogEdin Republic | Tarpon Springs, FL

We want the Best of the Best.

We are not hiring a babysitter for a play group. We are hiring a Top Dog handler for Train/Play, our structured form of daycare.

At DogEdin, every dog in the program is in a training environment. Play is earned, managed, and used to build manners, impulse control, and reliable social skills. Handlers read the dogs, drive the behavior, and coach better choices. A job spent standing in a yard hoping nothing happens is not this one.

The role A Top Dog owns Train/Play. You set the standard for safety, structure, and calm energy from the moment dogs arrive until they leave.
• Run Train/Play as structured work, not a free-for-all.
• Read body language in real time and drive the behavior.
• Use structure, engagement, and clear communication so play stays productive.
• Reinforce manners: doors, greetings, crate transitions, leash handling, place, and calm around people.
• Hold the standard when the day gets busy. No shortcuts.

Who we want: THE BEST
• Proven dog-handling experience: daycare, boarding, training work, or shelter — and you can talk specifically about what you did.
• Calm under pressure. Dogs mirror your energy.
• Comfortable being coached.
• Physically able to handle active dogs, stand for long shifts, and work indoors and out in Florida weather.
• Reliable. On time. Detail-oriented. You finish what you start.
• A learner. DogEdin methods come first. Prior habits that fit our program are welcomed.
• Ready to work weekends and holidays. The dogs do not take those off. Working in this field is a privilege. Yes, we work weekends and holidays.

Experience with balanced, structured training is a plus. A title without hands-on time is not.

What we offer:
• Immediate hire for The Best!
• A role with real responsibility, not a revolving-door attendant job. Make it a career!
• Direct coaching from working trainers.
• A professional team that takes the work seriously.
• Pay based on skill and experience.
• Full-time, with part-time considered for the right person.

To apply Email [email protected] with:
• Your resume
• Your availability
• Relevant handling or training experience
• A short note on how you drive behavior during play.

Put Top Dog in the subject line so we know you read this.

Is your presence enough ~ Part II

05/27/2026

Is your PRESENCE enough?

This is the TRUE, meaningful question. How do “you”…the real you….SHOW UP aka REPRESENT to your K9? Is what you want a solid form of representation? That simple.

Xena is 7 Mos old…I’m 2 weeks in. Her owner(s) won’t mind me saying that she was WILD-BRATTY-PUSHY as far as behaviors that needed to get into check.

Guess folks aren’t used to looking at relaxed K9 on leash…on a street corner…during rush hour💗
