I was able to attend the North Dakota and Minnesota state taxidermy shows this past month and had a great time with family and friends. Always look forward to these weekends.

It is such a blessing to be able to work with some of God’s most beautiful creations and I will always be grateful that He has led me on this taxidermy adventure, taking me places I never thought I would go. This was a two and a half year project of sculpting and molding an original form starting with a carcass cast. There were many challenges and learning curves along the way but I’m glad I kept at it.

I’m very thankful and honored to have won the Breakthrough Judges Choice Best of Show and a Runner Up Best of Show this year along with the Wasco Award for Most Artistic Entry.

I was grateful to have won “Judges choice best of show” at the Minnesota Taxidermy Guild convention. This piece felt like a rollercoaster of a process to get from start to finish. I was reminded how we grow, learn, and are stretched the most during a process. Thankful I persevered through the struggles and frustrating moments. The piece is a visual picture of Psalms 42: 1-2 “As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God the living God…”These verses speak the heart of Revival. When we begin turning to God and seeking Him more than anything or anyone else in our lives, you can be sure that personal and corporate revival are on the way. The kingdom of God is always attracted to hunger. May we be the ones who choose to surrender and thirst after Jesus. So many are hurting and broken, seeking and searching for life, truth, and which way to go, desiring something real and tangible. There is an answer, his name is Jesus.

I have one passion in life which is Jesus Christ, to love , serve, and obey him with all my heart. But I also enjoy doing other things as well, one of them being the art of taxidermy. Went to a couple of great shows in North Dakota and Minnesota. It is amazing to see the God given artistic talent that is on display at the shows. I give God the glory for allowing me to work with his creation in this unique way and helping me put together this piece. Thank you to the judges and friends that have helped and encouraged me over the years! And I’m especially thankful to Joy Faul and my sweet daughters for coming along and being so encouraging.
