One of the biggest challenges that we face in curbing the cat population is the fact that mother cats can become pregnant again well before their kittens are weaned. Traditionally, we often need to wait to perform a spay surgery as it is difficult for a nursing mother cat to heal when little kittens are rooting to nurse. However a flank spay is a spay procedure that allows new cat mothers the option of surgery.

When performing a flank spay, we access the ovaries through a small incision on the side of her abdomen, away from delicate mammary tissue. This allows an active nursing cat mother to continue providing nutrition to her kittens, while healing from this important surgery. The side entry also helps us monitor feral cats healing as we are often unable to closely inspect an incision on her underside.

WTH Purr-elli 😞💔🫪 had to slice a hole in the sofa bed couch to get her out....3 days later pulled out an entire entertainment center to get her out from behind/ under it ... and then within 15 minutes disassembled an entire electric fireplace unit that she had crawled into and wedged herself around the wiring system ... Poor Sweet pea ... What a wild ride after being dumped in our colony... safe, decompressing and purring like a princess now 🙏❤️

Krispy is a funky, spunky little short stack who is ready to bring a whole lot of joy to his forever family. This handsome one-year-and-seven-month-old brown tabby and white boy is instantly recognizable thanks to his adorably short, munchkin-like legs. While he might be just a little bit shy when he first meets you, it takes almost no time at all for his silly, loving personality to completely take over and shine.

Once he feels comfortable, Krispy is an absolute goofball who loves everyone he meets. He goes crazy for good scratches, happily wiggling and squiggling all over the place with pure joy. He has a wildly fun imagination and can often be found growling playfully at his imaginary friends, or happily wrestling the day away with his furry foster buddies. He is a deeply silly boy who sometimes gets a little overstimulated during his enthusiastic play sessions, but it just adds to his undeniable, quirky charm.

A Furry Friend is a Must: Krispy thrives on companionship and would absolutely love to be adopted alongside his best feline friend, or join a family that already has a friendly resident cat or dog for him to hang out with. Because of his uniquely energetic play style and tendency to get a little overstimulated, he requires a mature, predictable home without any children where he can feel perfectly at ease.
